With a shamefaced grin at myself for starting a pram thread ... bearing in mind its a long time since I had a baby ... would i really regret only being able to use a carseat for the first six months (rather than a "proper" pram?)

Space is limited as this is baby no. 3 and we have a dog so not lots of boot space.

Victorian terraced house so long narrow hall.

I def want a pram/puschair that I can attach a car seat to and was looking at quinny zapp purely for the size of it when folded. However, as it can't be used without the car seat until baby is 6 months old, and I know children shouldnt be in car seats for too long, I wonder if I'm being daft for considering it?

Another vote for the Maclaren Techno XT. It is really narrow (for getting into hallways and shops) and lays down completely flat for newborns. It's big enough that even my little heffalump will be able to use it until she's walking everywhere, so good value for money too.

MrsTittleMouse · 06/05/2008 20:36

The Techno XT fits into a Yaris boot, by the way, which is the smallest known to man. Repeat to self "must buy a bigger car before new baby is here....."

FloridaKbear · 06/05/2008 20:37

I've just eaten six fruit shortcake biscuits but I don't have the pg excuse - I am just stressing!! I am lurking here on your pram thread thinking how I can't wait to push a pram again

MamaG · 06/05/2008 20:37

the only problem I have with the McLaren is that I want to gaze in wonder at my lovely newborn

I missed out on baby facing me with DD and had it with DS and loved it [soppy cow]

Step Away From The Biscuits

you are going to have to Bare Your Body soon kbear

OP posts:
MrsTittleMouse · 06/05/2008 20:39

Actually we used a traditional pram with DD when we were at ILs and DD hated it! Looking at Mummy and Daddy was too boring for her, she wanted to see where she was going.

FloridaKbear · 06/05/2008 20:44

I can't, I am stressed out me 'ead with work this week and thinking about my holiday next week (have I mentioned my holiday....?) , my RL bessie mate has buggered off on a free MN holiday and left me with no one to share my dramas with. There is nothing for it but to drink wine and eat biscuits, a heady combination! I am going upstairs now to tryonholidayclothesagain put washing away. As you were....

MamaG · 06/05/2008 20:45

Why do you need to try on your holiday clothes?! Your job sounds horrid kbear, you're always stressing. Why don't you pop another baby out and leave for a year?

OP posts:
FloridaKbear · 06/05/2008 20:48

I need to try on holiday clothes because they are there waiting to be tried on, and I am an over-excited nutcase - no other reason. Me and DD compare flip flops on a regular basis! I've never had this many clothes before. Am sad case. I have sandals galore!

As I have told you before woman, I am done with all that baby lark, I love my big un's and am waiting in the wings to be aunty kbear in July.

MamaG · 06/05/2008 20:49

Gah
worth a try though?!

I love flip flops, got mine out today then realised I had badly chipped nailvarnish on my toes! Ballet pumps it is...

I'm very proud of you having lots of shoes you know!

MamaG · 06/05/2008 20:49

not sure if it has been mentioned so sorry if i am repaetig but it can damage bubs spine being in a car seat for a long time. i used a pramette for my 1st dd and thats great and will not take up lots of space. its when you go down the routes of 3 in 1's that space becomes a issue. ie dd2 i had bugaboo cameleon- fantastic but took up lots of space in boot
