Can anyone recommend a domestic fireproof document box ?

Am thinking about getting one for various papers, passports etc. but don't really know where to start as there seems to be so many out there and I don't know how many of them actually are fireproof.

Any views/recommendations gratefully received.

TIA

I keep important paperwork and photos in something like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ammo-Ammunition-metal-box-L45cm-x-W27cm-x-H25-5cm_W0QQitemZ140228605164QQihZ00 4QQcategoryZ588QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem this

Came from an army surplus years ago, and is padlock-able too.

This is a proper link, sorry.

I've got one of those in the attic (as you do!!). It was my Dad's so it's very, very old! Are they fireproof?

I think so - they are for storing ammunition so I've always assumed they are.

But I could be wrong.

Hmmmm, now there's a thought. I'll ask my father. Thanks for the idea!
