Pushchair junkies - is there anything rear facing that isn't enormous

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 15:56

Not a Loola. Just sold one

I have a Bebecar Stylo, but it's massive and taking up way too much room.

Must be rear facing as my FIL regularly provides a baby walking service (which is essential to the smooth running of this household) and is one of his 'bug bears' about modern pushchairs!

I have about £200 to spend

Oh, and not pramette style. DD is 8 months.

you need the pushchair bit of the Chicco Trio, but I've only seen it on sale with the carrycot + carseat so of course it's pricey

[rummages]

Chicco Top?
still a bit over budget

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 16:05

Hmm, a little bit. Might even fit in my car...

Have you seen it in the flesh? Is it sturdy?

How are you liking your Maclaren btw?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 01/05/2008 16:07

not seen in the flesh but it'll feel rattly compared to the Stylo

lurving the MX3, just taken off the carrycot and put the seat on - much more stable as centre of gravity is so much lower

geordieminx · 01/05/2008 16:08

Hauck Infinity, Buzz er that about it really unless you want a bug

lackaDAISYcal · 01/05/2008 16:08

the pushchair bit of the hauck infinity? i have a mothercare maui (made by Hauck and the same as the infinity) and the pushchair bit is rear facing. It isn't too bulky I don't think!

...am selling mine with the pushchair bit unused!

geordieminx · 01/05/2008 16:09

icandy apple

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 16:11

Oh no, we can't do rattly... I think a sturdy 3 wheeler would be just what we need (we're doing much more walking than I thought we would) but he can't get over the rear facing bit.

Daisy, is that the red/orange fabric?

I have liked the Britax Vigour since I first saw it but not convinced it'd fit in my hall cupboard

it is red/orange. sounds horrible but looks rather nice!

ApuskiDusky · 01/05/2008 18:16

Icandy cherry - smaller than the apple

SparklyGothKat · 01/05/2008 18:24

I second the Icandy Cherry. You can get one on ebay for about £120 sometimes cheaper (I got mine for £89)

misdee · 01/05/2008 18:29

the hauck/icoo infinity is a good buy. kiddicare.com often have a good deal on them.

very easy to push.

have been classed as a bug-a-like though

onelittlelion · 01/05/2008 18:29

Boots have got the vigour 3 and 4 on offer for £200 at the mo and extra points too.

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 19:13

Of the icandy/hauck which would be a more compact fold?

I'm assuming the hauck would be a 'bouncier' ride for baby?

OP posts:
lubyluby · 01/05/2008 19:14

the pliko switch is rear facing not too heavy and ahs a good sized seat. its not pramette style as it has a proper seat on an small folding frame that you can turn around and it ahs the added advantgae of being able to fold with the seat on.

lackaDAISYcal · 01/05/2008 19:24

lol misdee, i liked my hauck clone precisely for that reason.....it looked like the bug-a-whatever, but was a bit different and less common

the ride is bouncy, but not as bouncy as I thought it would be.

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 21:09

Can the jauck be folded with the seat on? The kiddicare video shows her taking it off.

OP posts:
Ceolas · 01/05/2008 21:09

That'll be hauck of course

OP posts:
misdee · 01/05/2008 21:11

can be folded forward facing with seat on. is very easy to take on and off though.

Ceolas · 01/05/2008 21:13

I'm just thinking about storing it. How on earth do you cope with storing your prams? Our house isn't tiny, but this Stylo is sitting in my living room driving me crazy. The hallway is long and narrow and under stair cupboard fairly small.

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 01/05/2008 21:14

I bow to misdee's superior knowledge as the pushchair seat for mine is still in its wrapper. I only ever used the carry cot.

It is very easy to take off though.

misdee · 01/05/2008 21:15

i only have two ceolos.

mb will be goijg in the loft for a short while so i get to use a proper pram and carrycot for a while. stroller will be in the car.
