What are you buying your kids for xmas???
Heathcliffscathy · 26/11/2004 21:15
i'm going to buy my one year old:
a shape sorter thingy (he has started trying to put things in things)
a little table and chair (he loves sitting on the ones at the library)
some books
better get on with it hadn't i?
bonniej · 26/11/2004 21:18
dd (17 months): dolls pram, a drawing thingy where you draw on it and after a while it disappears so you can draw again (don't know what it's called) might stop her crayoning over everything , some new board books, a little armchair, some new bath toys and some general toys for her as she's grown out of most of the ones we have. ds (16 years) haven't got a clue but whatever we buy it will be wrong!
lavender2 · 26/11/2004 21:21
have bought today chocolate like maggots, witches..in a tin for £1.99
a calendar of Birds, Dolphins
dd has a bike
that's it..am getting Monopoly tomorrow and a few other bits..always start around November but v.late this year...don't know why though.
Heathcliffscathy · 26/11/2004 21:21
bonnie has he got a stereo/tape deck/music thing...what about a digital radio...my best present ever was a double cassette deck when i was 15...hth
galaxy · 26/11/2004 21:23
dd (2) is having 2 Happy Land sets which I bought for her birthday in Nov but she had too much, books, puzzles, a washing machine and a tape recorder.
ds (11) is getting a portable tv (2nd hand) and a dvd player and some little bits for his stocking.
nikcola · 26/11/2004 21:23
where do they sell those arm chair thingies i want one for dd
bonniej · 26/11/2004 21:24
yes sophable, we used that one up last year! He's always very grateful for what he gets but I can tell when it's not right. We gave him money for his 16th birthday but for Christmas I want him to have something to open on the day. Trouble is everything's so expensive for a 16 year old. You're getting your one year old a table and chair, the table's a good idea that I might use for my dd. I can see her sitting there quite happy colouring. Thanks
Hulababy · 26/11/2004 21:25
We are getting DD(2.5) the Vtech VSmile, an AquaDraw, and various other little bits an bobs bought in sales or more cheaply. Things like the Disney Princess dolls, dress up accessories and books.
Heathcliffscathy · 26/11/2004 21:27
bonnie, can you stretch to a mp3 player...would go down v v well...
blueteddy · 26/11/2004 21:28
I have bought ds1 a washing machine from elc, a little laptop computer, the wooden castle from elc (reduced from £40-£20) & a plastic pizza so far.
I have bought ds2 (20 mths) the little tykes hopping trike thingy & the little people fire station.
bonniej · 26/11/2004 21:28
that's a good idea, he would be over the moon. To have a smiling 16 year old on Christmas day will be worth the expense. thanks for the idea
blueteddy · 26/11/2004 21:32
Hulababy, do u know that the v.smile has £20 off in wollies at the moment?
Earlybird · 26/11/2004 21:32
DD is 3.9 and I'm considering the following: bicycle with stabilisers, Barbie, Tea Set, bathrobe/slippers, kid's tape/cd player with kids tapes/cds, kid's toy keyboard, Etchasketch, dressing up clothes, coloring books, puzzles, and easel/paints/brushes. Haven't made up my mind what I'll get for her yet(and may end up with something completely different once I visit the shops ) , but those are some initial ideas.
How old are your kids fairydust?
fairydust · 26/11/2004 21:33
got dd who is 2 yrs 8months - have got most things but looking for a couple of insperations
KBear · 26/11/2004 21:33
Horses horses and more horses for DD (6) who is, yes you guessed it, horse mad. I got a barbie-type jeep with a horsebox and horse in Wilkinsons this week and she will LOVE it. Plus some books, audio books (she loves them), my little pony, bubbles, bobbles - usual stuff!
DS (3)- I got him a race track in Tesco which is a bit like Scalextric, some Thomas "learning" books with stickers, a few other bits and pieces.
Not going overboard this year.
codswallop · 26/11/2004 21:35
ds1 a yuh gi oh thing
ds2 play mobiel plane
and ds3 gets stuff out ot he loft and a cheque
Hulababy · 26/11/2004 21:37
blueteddy - yes, but it is unavailable in most stores anyway! I have already got mine now Besides got mine from Argos for £49.99. As I got batteries and spent more than £50 I then got a £5 money off voucher, plus a free Lion King game (worth £14.99) = so equals the £20 off, so I don't feel bad
blueteddy · 26/11/2004 22:19
I think that the out of the loft thing that Cod is referring 2, means she will pull out some of the old toys 4 ds3.
blossomhill · 26/11/2004 22:20
Main present:
ds - game boy advance
dd - Leapster
Lots of other bits and pieces too
janeybops · 26/11/2004 22:30
DD 3 and half = bike with stabilisers
ds 14 months - motorcycle ride on toy from ELC
