What are you buying your kids for xmas???

OP posts:
PuffTheMagicDragon · 26/11/2004 22:32

ds1 (3.5)

vtec laptop computer, charades for kids game, floor size Noddy Snakes & Ladders game

ds2 (17 mths)

pop up play tunnel, wooden pull along train, tomy "my first" remote control aeroplane.

colditzmum · 26/11/2004 22:36

ds (20mo) is getting thomas the tank engine train set from woolies, mini mop and broom ( it pays to encourage it) playdoh, large box of cars, cutters for the playdoh, and a whinnie the pooh high chair that turns into a table and chair

Gobbledigook · 26/11/2004 22:39

Ds1 (3.5) and ds2 (2) - black and decker workbench and some extra tools as joint present plus a post office and a springy spider game

Individually they've also got books, jigsaws, joy planes and cars, extra bits for the wooden railway, activity books, chocolate santas

DS3 (4 months by Xmas) - brightly coloured teething ring, couple of board books, clothes

DH has still to buy his present for each of them (a new tradition I'm starting as I always buy everything and want him to put some thought and effort in too)

Can't stop myself buying things - even though it's too near to Xmas, I still gave in and bought them a new Pingu video in Tesco the other day!

bakedpotato · 26/11/2004 22:42

dd (3) wooden cradle for her doll

Gingerbear · 26/11/2004 23:16

DD (2 and a half):
Junior Explorer globe
Baby Annabell to replace the one that got left on the plane on our return from holiday.
megasketcher
Tomy Aquadraw
Craft stuff
Balamory DVD
Animal Dominos
books and jigsaws.

She is showing a keen interest in a V tech laptop computer in TK Maxx, but I think it is crap so am resisting the temptation to buy it.

mummytummy · 26/11/2004 23:33

I am feeling a bit guilty, because I have only spent £20 on DD2 (age 7 months)on a peek-a-boo blocks train. Thing is, at this age their toys aren't in their age group for long, and she has so many toys from DD1, but she is a real secondhand rose . I have just had a real bargain though for DD1 (age 2.7). She loves trains and cars, and I was trying to buy the ELC City Road Set, but it was sold out, but they had the huge ELC Wooden World Magic Mountain Set (rail and road) reduced from £85 to £42.50, so I am well chuffed .

Gingerbear · 26/11/2004 23:49

mummytummy, DD's 1st Xmas she was 6 months old, and we spent about 20 pounds too. Other friends and relatives spoilt her rotten though but the old adage was true- She spent more time with the paper and boxes, so don't feel too guilty!

Furball · 27/11/2004 22:54

We've got DS(3) the ELC giant garage and some lego (went for Duplo in the end if you remembered me asking the question!) then from Father Christmas, a Jeremy Clarkson DVD (his hero, don't ask!!) a medical kit, a Thomas Annual, the elc sandwich making set, a shopping game and a cheapo version of mega sketcher then maybe a few other cheap bits and bobs if I see them.

Linnet · 27/11/2004 23:29

Dd1(7) is getting the Polly Pocket Hotel/rollercoaster, a Spyro game for the Playstation, pyjamas, Barbie Camera, Calendar, felicity wishes cup with chocolates in it. And a few bits and pieces in her stocking.

Dd2 is getting a cube thing from M&S that has beads and spinning bits on it and a fisher price stacking Ring toy that plays music and some pyjamas. she'll only be 7 months at christmas.

joash · 27/11/2004 23:44

DD1 - has requested carpet for her louonge and bedroom in her new flat.
DD2 - got no idea whatsoever.
DS - new stereo, DVD player and couple of other bits and bobs.
Grandson - this teletubbie thingy (can't describe it any better) complete with place where they live, all teletubbies and noo-noo. Plus a dolls pram and a nice dolly that cries and giggles (his mum's throwing a fit - but grandson loves dolls (or babies as he calls them). Spend most of time playing outside at carer and toddler group, putting dolls in prams, wrapping them up, kissing them "Night night" and pushing the prams round looking very proud of himself.

MummyToSteven · 28/11/2004 11:28

not very much at all as I buy loads of toys for DS (9 months at Xmas)throughout the year - probably an ELC musical instruments set - and of course a box and some wrapping paper to play with - which he will appreciate as much as anything! i also got him some baby einstein DVDs from ebay last month which is notionally down as a Xmas present for him as well.

golds · 28/11/2004 11:32
