Does anyone else get unreasonably droolsome at the thought of your dream saucepans? What really gets me going is imagining a cupboard full of le creuset in kiwi green.

too heavy for me. i have got analon saucepans and a fine selection of frying pans, incluiding le crueset and this beauty. interestingly the one which gets the most use is a small cheapy swan pan which dh bought about 20 years ago.

I've got a Meyer/circulon frying pan which cost a fair whack considering it's pretty small but it has lasted soooooooo well.

I need another one.

BroccoliSpears · 14/01/2008 20:17

my friend had a whole set of all-clad everything... i swear it was impossible to burn stuff in them, there were no hot spots.

yep, tk maxx is weird, deffo, but it's always worth a gander at their pots and pans. i got a meyer circulon brying pan there last week for £12.99.

BroccoliSpears · 14/01/2008 20:26

Drac, I was really enjoying these links. Now I just feel dirty.

I need a BIG saucepan with a thick old base

that doesn't cost £195

My last one was from a pound shop. God it was nice. But it has died. Who can aid me in my hour of need?

Aitch · 14/01/2008 20:28

on that note, cd, my friend got them for her wedding. in fact, they were pretty much the only thing on her list, she wanted people to chip in for them so we did. her brother, otoh, thought them indecorously expensive and took it upon himself to give her some not unlike the argos ones. 'but look', he said, 'this is a FULL SET'.

expatinscotland · 14/01/2008 20:38

go on then, you show me yours and i'll show you mine - some still very shiny Ken Hom stainless bought cheap as chips in Argos.

FrannyandZooey · 14/01/2008 20:42

you know, I am really wigged out by tk maxx

my one friend keeps swearing i must go in

it just looks like a jumble sale but with bright lights

I can't do it

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 14/01/2008 20:43

F&Z - the John Lewis pans have thick bottoms. I had a set in London and when we moved down here and inherited an aga, they were more than up to the job. How BIG is BIG you want though?

pans

expatinscotland · 14/01/2008 20:44

I harbour similar feelings about TK Maxx.

I just . . . can't.

That's why I was pleased to purchase our Ken Hom stainless steel saucepan set from Argos.

Still going strong after 4 years!

Also, if you've got a large Asian grocery store, Broccoli, I'd try that. We picked up a gorgeous wok we use all the time for about a tenner.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 14/01/2008 20:49

If you like Chasseur cookware (similar to Le Creuset) then keep an eye on Amazon - I think they overstocked on the range. Last week I bought this bargain.
