Wondering whether to get one to have in garage. Currently have fridge freezer that's OK for day-to-day, but no good if I batch cook (which I'd like to more).

Anyone got any recommendations? Any brands to avoid?

It's chilly here in the garage thinking about chest freezers isn't it?

Brrr.

I should have done this shouldn't I? Pulling my hat down over my ears.

AwayInAMunker · 16/12/2007 18:58

I'll put the kettle on - come in and we'll have a cuppa

Oooh thank you, I'd love to. But what if someone incredibly knowledgeable pitches up here and starts going on about brands and this is good in a chest freezer and that bad, and we're inside in the warm chatting away?

No you must stay here. I'll stay too for a bit, and bump about a bit and look through the PILES of things in the corner until someone turns up. [loyal]

Good grief! How does she get into the chest freezer then? Does she have steps?

AwayInAMunker · 16/12/2007 19:26

PMSL at sugarelly - I wasn't casting aspersions on your mother's vocab, btw - but you said your mum swore by her freezer

Sugarelly! You didn't really think I'd leave you without even one brand name did you?

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2007 19:31

Yes I love her. I think she sounds great.

dooley1 · 16/12/2007 19:33

do you have a door from your house into your garage?
we don't, we only have a chest freezer in the garage so at 11pm when i need (!) ice cream, I have to go out in my dressing gown, round the front of the house and into the garage.
We are getting a fridge freezer for the kitchen in the new year....
