Who does the best kids pyjamas?

Family tradition in the C&L household-new pjs. This is mainly so that the photos on xmas morning look nice

Last year we got them from Primark, and while they are OK, they don't wash massively well.

Have never bought posh kids pyjamas. Who does good ones that last? I don't mind spending a bit as they will get passed down through several kids, but also, ebay.

Obviously I would like nice traditional ones, nothing with plebian things like dr who on them. (these I will save for dp)

oh dear, I suppose I must have the C&L pyjamas, ar$e

Was thinking boden. Are they the sort of thing you sip homemade gingerbread and cocoa in ?

here

I bought my daughter these (the Red Leaf ones) for christmas - they are gorgeous! She has had Boden ones and Mothercare - all of which wash really well.

MummyDarlingSausage · 07/12/2007 17:55

(and her white company stripey pj's have lasted for ages - I bought them big about 2 years ago!)

bigdonna · 08/12/2007 09:04

matalan, tchibo, primarks fleece ones wash lovely at £3.00 a pair.

seeker · 08/12/2007 09:08

I got our Christmas pyjamas last year from Gap. Ther were lovely - traditional tartan check (blue for dd, green for ds) I don't know if they are doing anything like that this year - haven't looked yet (!) I need matching or coordinated for 11 year old dd and 6 year old ds (they insist - not my doing) so will be folloing this thread with interest!

John Lewis have gorgeous ones this year.

paddingtonbear1 · 08/12/2007 09:26

I like M&S ones, they are good quality fabric and last ages. Having said that, dd's fleece ones from primark have been fab too!

HappyMummyOfOne · 08/12/2007 20:07

Mothercare and Next are the only places I buy PJ's from, he outgrows them before they wear out.

Did try Asda once but they only lasted a few washes before the picture went funny and they shrunk.

amazonianwoman · 08/12/2007 22:38

John Lewis do nice brushed cotton ones - £12

But also have some fab flowery brushed cotton ones from Ethel Austin - £6 for 2 pairs

Vulgar · 08/12/2007 23:34

The Boden ones that double up as long johns are lovely.

Great for cold days out under jeans and coats.

They are quite close fitting so are only suitable for skinnies!

LyraSilvertinsel · 08/12/2007 23:42

Mothercare do nice traditional pyjamas.
I made the mistake of buying Primark ones and they look crap after only a couple of washes.

morningglory · 08/12/2007 23:46

Best PJs are by Petit Bateau. Wonderful quality, and sooooo soft. Won't let my son wear any other ones.

LyraSilvertinsel · 08/12/2007 23:53

Petit Bateau v pricey though, no?

cluelessnchaos · 08/12/2007 23:58

i get the long nighties from boden every year I love them and the look even more gorgeous the more you wash them

cluelessnchaos · 09/12/2007 00:00

i got some verbaudet ones which were fine but i ordered them one size up and the just fitted

QuintessentialShadowOfYuleTide · 09/12/2007 00:08

Hennes!
Top quality, great designs, at low prices!

yelnats · 09/12/2007 00:13

Matalan always have lovely ones. http://www.matalan.co.uk/pages/product-view/003/026/4977/red-check-wincey-pyjamas like these

yelnats · 09/12/2007 00:14

ah bugger

morningglory · 09/12/2007 09:57

Petit Bateau is a bit pricey, but it will LAST. Also, they have an outlet at Bicester Village (I think I spelled this wrong), where you can buy their pyjamas for about half to less price.

JulesJules · 09/12/2007 10:04

Mini Boden and White Company get my vote. DD2 has a pair of apple green gingham trad style PJs from White Company and they are v cute, and wash beautifully. They are expensive, but I usually get them (Boden and W.C.) in the sales. Fwink! (Sorry, I love saying that.)
