www.kidsshouldbekids.co.uk/index.php

called Kids should be kids - check it out. I HATE all the tarty/army stuff that is sold for kids these days, and I know there have been threads about it...

(PS, I don't work for them or anything, just thought this was the sort of shop I'd like to get behind. I am buying some of the Italy kids striped ones for my DCs Christmas Portrait shoot)

Yes,,they are nice (and a hell of a lot cheaper than Boden!)

Lubyloo · 14/10/2007 23:07

No girls trousers?

Astrophe · 14/10/2007 23:09

Yeah, they are not too dear at all are they? There are some girls trousers on the sale bit, but I guess they are summer.

It's quite nice... but I would like somewhere where you can just buy PLAIN stuff. I'd like to be able to get DS a plain dark blue sweater without any bloody logos/motifs on etc...

Lubyloo · 14/10/2007 23:14

Seen the ones in the sale section - they are lovely.

Astrophe · 14/10/2007 23:21

They have a section called 'plain tops', but not sweaters. I'm hoping its a new store and the range will increase.

Yes, the trousers in the summer sale are beautiful...DH said NO!!!!!

They are really sweet!

WendyWeber · 14/10/2007 23:47

Have you come across Jako-o, Little?

Masses of lovely stuff, makes me wish I had a little one again

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 14/10/2007 23:49

A lot of it is nice but I am not sure that dd would wear much of it, the pyjamas are cute though and the stripy t shirts would apeal

kindersurprise · 15/10/2007 00:02

Looks lovely, but am I the only person not able to view the site properly?

Shitemum · 15/10/2007 00:03

i couldnt view it properly either but maybe they are still ironing some things out as looks fairly new?

kindersurprise · 15/10/2007 00:06

Ok, will try again tomorrow then. I am getting the site half in English and half in German at the moment.

Shitemum, love the name!

Shitemum · 15/10/2007 00:09

i'm getting it half in Spanish - so they seem to know where we are! Thanks, am regular, have name-changed twice in last couple of weeks but think i'll stick with this one as it's quite snappy!

Astrophe · 15/10/2007 13:58

They seem a bit low on stock actually, which is a shame. I couldn't get the top I was after for DS, but have ordered a different one, plus one for DD, so will let you all know if they are lovely or not.

Well, I got the tops today and they are gorgeous - the colours are so bright and they seem like nice quality. Quite a fitted style, which I think looks quite funky.

Malene · 18/10/2007 22:44

My name is Malene and I am founder of Kids Should Be Kids. There is loads of information on my website why I started the company, - I don't want it to look as if I am advertising so I better not write it here.

Just wanted to say thank you all for your comments. I love getting feedback - even negative feedback as it is the only way I can improve. So please feel free to email me with feedback - I would be really grateful. I am sorry some people have had difficulties viewing the site - I will look into that.

Someone mentioned that stock was limited and I guess it is. I really wanted to test the market before investing in too much stock - there is a limit to how many stripy tops my two girls can wear. But I am working on it.
Once again thank you to you all.

HUNXXXX · 18/10/2007 22:45

coot heya re keen on STRIPES

FuzzyFeeling · 21/10/2007 00:02

Get more boy's clothes in Melene!! All the shops always have far more on offer for girls. What you do have for boys is really nice though!

margoandjerry · 22/10/2007 13:46

Hi Malene, Agree with fuzzyfeeling. Am sick of seeing my nephews in mini skater boy stuff (fun t shirts) or mini accountant stuff (stripy shirts). There should be more interesting clothes for boys. I love these shirts from Woolshed though they cost an arm and a leg:

here

Just don't fall into that "boys must wear brown or blue and nothing else" trap!

Also, I think you should have more stretchy jersey type trousers in the baby section. I don't like dressing my baby girl in dresses as she can't crawl properly in them and jeans are too stiff.

Nice website!

Enid · 22/10/2007 13:51

terrible name

sounds too reactionary

range too limited and no girls trousers

still some of the stuff looks nice

you say you do scandi brands - get some more wacky priunts in a la P.OP

NAB3 · 22/10/2007 13:57

LNSHL Adams do plain navy sweatshirts.

Twinkie1 · 22/10/2007 13:59

They don't lool like they do coats!!

Only bloody thing the kids need and can't find one I like - resent paying Boden over £100 for 2 coats!!
