Bunk beds that can be used separately

Does anyone have these M&S bunk beds?
Are you happy with them? Do they work well as single beds?

I want to get some bunk beds, but will just use one half as a single bed for ds1, until such time as ds2 is ready for bed (keeping the other half in the attic).

Bump.

Or any other bunk beds you can recommend? Please don't say IKEA......

well, I have got Ikea ones and they're fine, and comfy and separate to be used for either 2xsingle or bunks. A lot of ikea is tat, but wouldn't rule out just because, tho dh would...

jammydodger · 14/10/2007 14:27

just looked at ikea website coz I'm looking for the same thing..they have some lovely ones that are wooden and not expensive. Do you not have an ikea nearby or do you just not like it?
The m and s one looks nice but a bit dear for us!

MuffinMclay · 14/10/2007 19:17

Just can't face a trip there, and dh has refused to ever set foot in the place again!

Bumping for any other ideas. I saw the M&S ones in the flesh (well, pine) today and they looked rather cheap and nasty (although the mattresses that come with them were good). It may be that the one in the store had got battered from peoples' trolleys ramming into it, but I wasn't impressed.

Ds1 has a cabin-height Flexa bed. The beds can be used in several different ways including as bunk beds. They are pine but nice quality.

DarrellRivers · 17/10/2007 14:36

Oh don't say that about the m and s ones, as am waiting for mine to be delivered, although for £279 I'm not suprised.
I reckon I'll paint mine if they look disgusting and at least the mattressses are good quality

DarrellRivers · 17/10/2007 14:38

TBH i don't really like pine
i'll sell you mine when they get here muffin, or will report back on said quality
aspace do some for just under £400 i think but no mattresses included

The £199 ones in Argos look pretty much the same as those M&S ones.

We need some as have one single room and can get 2 single beds in and nothing else. Will hopefully get the Argos ones as can't find cheaper, dds getting them for xmas from grandparents and aunts i hope.

DarrellRivers · 17/10/2007 14:53

Do the argos ones include the mattresses in the price?

Bundle · 17/10/2007 14:53

cod, get back to yer blog

Bocoreepy · 17/10/2007 14:53

Yes, £199 for bunks and mattresses. Probably crappy thin matresses but will do for a bit.
