Bunk beds that can be used separately

Does anyone have these M&S bunk beds?
Are you happy with them? Do they work well as single beds?

I want to get some bunk beds, but will just use one half as a single bed for ds1, until such time as ds2 is ready for bed (keeping the other half in the attic).

Zubb - yours look just like the M&S ones, but cheaper. Are the matresses OK?

TBH, I don't like pine much, but thought the dses could have our old pine furniture in their room and we can replace it with something nicer for us.

It does have to be bunk beds, even though they'll be a PITA to change etc. I want to fit 2 boys into one small room and keep our bigger room as a guest room.

Cod, do you use the underneath bed as a guest bed only or use it every night and put it away the next day?

I was thinking of getting bunks for the ds's as they have started sharing lately and they would have more floor space - but already have one of those guest bed underneath ones (and have been putting off the bunks because of the pita of changing sheets during the night, etc

The mattresses are good - quite firm. IIRC there was a choice of mattresses, and they are standard size so you can get them from somewhere else if you prefer.

Additions/Littlewoods have them cheaper and they're lovely.

They're spindly pine ones. If you look at Additions, there's white ones for £109 but if you click on them it brings up a picture of pine ones (nicer than the argos ones)

but they're out of stock however

you can buy them from Littlewoods (same company) for £139 without mattresses (you can use money off vouchers too if your brave/stupid) then get the mattresses from Additions (£16 a mattress)

Works out cheaper than argos and they're nicer.

I forgot to say, the reason you'd buy them for £30 dearer from Littlewoods is they're still cheap and instock. Doesn't look like they're coming back in to Additions (even though the same company!)

Darrellrivers, have you got yours yet? Thinking of getting some but worried they look too piney, iyswim. Would prefer something a bit darker like the Aspace ones but can't stretch to that!
