GLTC factory shop - all 2/3's off the current catalogue

This shop is fantastic!!! It is in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire in the Tower Centre next door but two to Argos.

More or less the entire current catalogue is in there (not the big furniture) for 2/3's off the original price.

Grobags are £8.50
Bunny alarm clocks are £6.75

They don't take credit cards, they take a cheque with a card or cash.

It is well worth a visit if you're a fan. I've bought the Barbie pink rain outfit for DD. There is loads of ski stuff in there, rain suits, all in ones and the ones with the braces, wellies and all the clothing range from there (Boden style clothing catalogue).

Apparently it is only going to be there until January so grab a bargain.

Just gone on to their website and ordered a cat. Had a quick flick round to see if maybe he has old stock but a lot of the stuff on the current website I have seen in the shop.

If you live far away I'll keep my eye open for the games table. If they get them in I'll let you know.

KangaMummy · 16/10/2004 00:21

thanks that would be great or if they have a telephone number I could ring

Is it open monday - saturday 9am - 5pm? Or does it have extended hours thurs?

I really am confused as to where he gets the stock!!!!

Is it a big shop? Do you think he would be able to get the tables for me? Do they have big things like that? I know they don't have furniture.

thanks for all your help.

Hi, it's all definitely the real thing. Some of th boxes are bashed, some things don't have boxes at all but most of it is perfect.

Alot of it is still in big boxes like someone else said.

It is well worth a drive for if you a fan of GLTC. Hoddesdon itself does not have much to offer apart from the shop and The Tower Centre itself is pretty awful but just go down to the end where there is a green fronted shop to the right of Argos.

I have been twice now, the other day they had a few of the storage units with the soft bag type inserts. Didn't see the games table but then I wasn't looking for one. They also had the bed canopies that hang from the ceiling for £30.

If you need especially need outdoor clothes, wet weather gear or ski wear it's well worth the trip.

They've also got all the books, snuggle cushions, all sorts. I think I need another trip!

Can anyone tell me how long it would take to get there from Barnet/Haringay border?? Really want to take a look, but that'll mean convincing a friend to take me, and as I dont drive, I'm completely clueless about times and distances.

morningmayhem · 16/10/2004 13:14

Ixel I have just checked the AA site for you. It says 16 miles from Barnet that would be about 20 minutes or so on a clear run.
Does that sound about right? I didn't Know you were that close
If you want to check have a look here go into travel and leisure at the top of page in the yellow box then into route planner. Sorry could not do a direct link. If you do go let us know how you get on I was thinking of going soon. It sounds too good to miss. I've got over a hours drive though.

SecondhandRose · 16/10/2004 13:58

Ixel, from Barnet get on the M25 and come round one juction and come off at junction 25. Head north towards Hertford (turn left at the M25 roundabout.

Follow the A10 north for about 5 miles until you see the sign post for Hoddesdon. Go down towards the town centre and turn right at the roundabout up I think it's Amwell St (it's Amwell something anyway). I then park on the yellow lines and go into the centre which will be on your left.

From Barnet you're probably looking at 30 minutes during the day.

TRACEY did u go? what was it like?

TracyK · 16/10/2004 21:56

I have to admit failure! I was going to go after meeting my friend for lunch - but ds was dog tired and i knew he'd fall asleep in the car and i didn't want to have to take him out and disturb him!
He's been a grumpy, clingy tired baby all day - I think he may be coming down with something.
HOWEVER - my mum is coming to stay next week and I shall take her there for a day out and I shall report back then.

EvesMama · 16/10/2004 21:58

what are these bunny clocks and why isnt there a shop in teeside, £8.50 for gro bags!!!!

KangaMummy · 16/10/2004 22:26

ok tracey I understand hope ds is better tomorrow report back whenever you can.

thanks

Ixel · 17/10/2004 09:37

Thanks for the directions... will report back when we get round to going!

TracyK · 22/10/2004 19:04

I went today. It was ok - nothing really fantastic. Looked like good clothes for children maybe 1 year plus. All too big for ds.
I got a new gro-bag for £8.50. I stupidly forgot to take cash or cheque and only had about £9 in my purse!

JPM · 22/10/2004 22:57

I went today too. Spent a small fortune again!! Received GLTC Catalogue today so had a good flick through and circled all the items I'll be looking out for over the next few weeks until he closes.
