Dd's best friend is completely horse-mad. She even neighs! I, on the other hand, know next to nothing about horses. Any ideas? She also loves anything Hello Kitty.

you need anything from \link{http://www.juliphorses.com/shop/index.php?cPath=32&osCsid=348601b86e3f70 f9a1da6477a90b58b2\here} (the horse of the year range, not the originals)

no need to thank me lol

lisad123 · 26/05/2007 21:24

depends on how much you want to spend. How about some riding lessons, or adopt a horse from local horse resusace centre

oh poo here

SoupDragon · 26/05/2007 21:25

How about a horse or pony?

sauce · 26/05/2007 21:36

yeah right, soup. Got your credit card handy?

Great link PPH but I wonder if this particular almost 7yr old would get it. I'll forward the link to horse-mad's mum & see what she says.

What about books? The Magic Pony or the Sheltie series?

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:42

well my dd has been obsessed with julip since she was 6 almost 7. it is great stuff because you can collect it (and point out to her mum that the smaller bits are great for xmas stockings lol)

sauce · 26/05/2007 21:45

I think I'll have another look, PPH!

Subscription to Horse & Pony magazine?

Dannie · 26/05/2007 21:49

www.horseandpony.com

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:49

this is the pony magazine for under 12s, she would love you forever if you got her a sub

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:49

and it is perfect for 7 year olds. I'd say 7- 10 was the real target audience

Amapoleon · 26/05/2007 21:50

My dd has a similar thing to Julip from Elc.

sauce · 26/05/2007 21:52

French & Italian speaking child. Equivalent mag available I wonder?

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:53

hmmmmm

does she have a pony/ride? My dd was given a lilac hoofpick and a brightly coloured dandy brush before she ever got a pony and she was completely delighted - used to take them off to her riding class and use them...

otherwise get her some lovely harry hall or joules jodphurs. they do funky designs

only if she rides, obviously, not if it is a completely virtual obsession

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:55

harry hall

sauce · 26/05/2007 21:56

Does she ride? Is the sky blue? This kid is now taking lessons 2-3 times a week. Her mum's going mad with having to hang around the stables all the time. And it costs a bomb. So glad my dd likes horses from a reasonable distance!

Well I have ds who is pony mad, Ive bought him masculine pendants on a lace. He has had pony slippers that neigh in the past. Quality pair of riding gloves (bit of leather in them). A T shirt with a horse on the front. (had to make this more masculine so bought black with a rock style type of design on front of white horse)

Easier for girls cos most of products seem to be pink or purple. Smashing T shirts about particularly for gals.

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 21:58

get her a cool pair of jodphurs and a hoofpick

have you got an equestrian shop near you? there is one in my village (the only retail opportunity for miles lol)

sauce · 26/05/2007 22:00

A hoofpick? Are you serious? Gross.

OP posts:
PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 22:07

my dd used to take her hoofpick to BED

get her a pink or purple hoofpick, and then come and post back on here in a fortnight about how much she loves it and how pathetically grateful you are to me for suggesting it
