Dd's best friend is completely horse-mad. She even neighs! I, on the other hand, know next to nothing about horses. Any ideas? She also loves anything Hello Kitty.

Okay. Thanks. Will go to local horse-shop or whatever on Tuesday & check all this horsey stuff out.

I think its a small child 20 or 22. They are still very long in the leg and I found myself taking off loads to fit my 3 year old (at the time)

This book is what you need. My dd has read the whole series in English, but it seems it's also available in French and [http://www.azetalibri.it/main/product.asp?sku=12398053&idaff=0 in Italian]].

My pony-mad 7-year-old would also love any sort of toy horses (playmobil do a riding school) or something like a silk for her hat or gloves or t-shirt with a pony on, etc etc etc...

Good luck.

Ellbell · 26/05/2007 22:18

Oops, sorry, here's the Italian link again - they don't have the whole series though by the look of it.

18 is the smallest size - fits about a 4 yo or possibly leggy 3yo

you can get them in most equestrian shops.

My dd would like a hoof-pick, PPH!

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 22:28

does a 2 year old need proper jodphurs?

PrincessPeaHead · 26/05/2007 22:29

put one in her xmas stocking. best £2 you'll ever spend!

Ellbell · 26/05/2007 23:10

unchief... try Country Rider in Blackwater. My parents got some pretty smalls jodhpurs for my dd2 there. Admittedly she was 4 at the time, but they might have smaller. Otherwise, I'd agree with PPH... just get some thickish leggings that won't chafe. A 2-y-o isn't really going to be in the saddle for hours at a time.

PPH - might just do that, only not sure what she'll do with it (except perhaps to take out dd2's eye or something!) as she doesn't really get to do any stable management type stuff just yet...

Have to endorse the Sheltie series - my dd loves them. Also, ther very own hat would be good - even if whe can't have lessons she can pretend?
