I got mine from ASPACE they are not as heigh as your standard bundbeds, but there is lots to choose from

nailpolish · 04/05/2007 16:03

nappies i dont mind pine - as long as its not that mingin yellow pine - im sick of that - pine painted white is acceptable

and ive just remembered - we are keeping dd1 single bed as spare for guests - so her good mattress would stay on that

oh soz - i meant the kids window ones linked to earlier. oh i agree white painted pine is lovely, but i was just a bit that one set of pine bunks could be 175quid and another 895 or whatever they are, without mattresses.

i think the aspace ones i got are pine (not here yet)

back to topic thoi, im pretty sure white company do some... prob the overpriced sort tho.

dollyk · 04/05/2007 16:09

if you can keep an eye on the one you like I got the captian bunkbed for a really good price they are always doing discounts

NappiesGalore · 04/05/2007 16:09

np - go to the cildrensurniturecompany and fallin love with those. that way, when you look at aspace again, theyll seem more reasonable!

NappiesGalore · 04/05/2007 16:10

i looooove aspace captains bunks in white... but they dont break down to singles (without a saw) and we wanted flexibility

NappiesGalore · 04/05/2007 16:12

get ikea ones in white and large sheets of mdf to screw to front...side...the bit you look at anyway, cut access into it and paint it in theme of choice...

i was going to have 3 staggered bunks on one wall with a 'false' wall (mdf) in front with cloud wallpaper on and cloud shaped cutouts to get into the bunks and little cloud shaped ledges outside each to put the ladders up to...

it neednt actually cost as much as the aspace ones but as soon as i started talking about it people started talking large numbers and dp got firm

What age can a child go on the top bunk? My 5½ year old has a mid sleeper cabin bed right now but wants a proper bunk bed. Any thoughts? People I asked in RL said 7??? I had bunk beds as a child and I am sure I was in the top bunk from 5 or so.

Hi Nappies - long time no speak and all that! Are the builders finished yet? Did you get a holiday booked? The villa is very busy now this year and we are already taking bookings for 2008 - especially the school hols. It has proved to be very popular so that's great for my parents. Can I tempt you for next year??????

Sorry for hijack and hope someone can answer re ages.
