I keep trying different moisturisers but never seem to buy the same one twice. Are clarins, clinique etc REALLY better than the mid range olay etc and the cheapo own brands?? I have combination skin & do tend to have breakouts if i use anything too rich.

I like the Liz Earle stuff - kind of mid range, and sounds like you'd need the Skin Repair Light version.

j3 · 26/03/2007 12:34

Nivea Visage for me

oooggs · 26/03/2007 12:36

Body shop Vit E

cathcart · 26/03/2007 12:46

I was just about to ask the same question as I just looked in the mirror and I must have aged about 10 yrs in the 7 weeks since dd was born! sad but true .
Have used clinique (triple somethin or other it was called) which was lovely but then it was about £30 so it wants to be. Have been after something a bit cheaper as now I'm not working my budget doesn't stretch that far!

that garnier stuff in a red pot. seems ok

ceolas · 26/03/2007 12:49

Tbh I haven't found one that I love. Using Liz Earle's Skin Repair Light at the moment and I'll stick with that for a while.

Cod, you do have dry skin don't you - nivea blue!

Ali5 · 26/03/2007 12:50

I've got combination skin and have tried cheap and expensive and I fully believe the expensive ones are better for my skin. I've used Clinique ddml which got too oily, Clarins which I used for ages but after a m/c didn't suit anymore. I've used Estee Lauder since, ultra hydration or something in a blue pot with their refinisher and it's great. Totally worth every penny, but I alo get people to buy me it for birthday/christmas etc.

babygrand · 26/03/2007 12:51

I use Liz Earle too.

DeputyMacDawg · 26/03/2007 12:52

I'm on Olay complete care (winter).
Has really helped my very dry/cracked skin

Furball · 26/03/2007 12:57

Dermalogica for me. Very light, not greasy, loveley, well apart from the price. But christmas/birthday presents keeps me topped up.

Furball · 26/03/2007 12:57

oops meant lovely

TuttiFrutti · 26/03/2007 14:03

Boots Time Delay with SPF15. Fantastic and very cheap.

ajj · 26/03/2007 20:57

I use Liz Earle aswell.

Scootergirl · 26/03/2007 20:58

The Olay glowy one - it's about eight quid and is fab!

Lullabyloo · 26/03/2007 21:01

currently i'm loving Neal's Yard Wild Rose Beauty balm that can be used as a cleanser as well & comes with a muslin cloth.

carol3 · 26/03/2007 21:06

nivea never without a pot

babygrand · 26/03/2007 22:25

Have just bought some more Liz Earle things and actually they're not as cheap as I thought! Still like them though - they're good for my dry/sensitive skin.

Moomin · 26/03/2007 22:34

which olay glowy one? I thought the glowy one was Definity and it's £24 Is there another one?

Carmenere · 26/03/2007 22:39

I am a life long devotee of Nivea but have felt I needed a bit more recently and have tried some Loreal something-or-other which made me come out in spots.
Sooo, I tried Olay regenerist and the pentepeptides are doing wonders Truly I feel it has made a difference but the only problem is that I am going through it quite fast.

Moomin · 26/03/2007 23:09

I'm getting fed up with trying new ones. I used to have the Olay Total (7 signs of aging and all that) and got on very well with it but have't been able to afford it recently. I bought the Olay anti-wrinkle which reacted really badly to my skin (felt like it was on fire after a week of using it) and now am using the Tesco Barbra Daly tinted mousturiser which is ok but I seem to have a layer of really small spots/pimple around my jawline (which is obviously really attractive). Dh has now said he will buy me a pot of good stuff this week and can't decide whther to go for old faithful Total or try Definity or even Regenerist. so many decisions!

gipsymama · 26/03/2007 23:30

I like Nivea too - I use Visage Q10 Plus which, despite THE MOST annoying advert in history, seems to do the trick. I like the smell too, which is important. The Body Shop Vit E feels nice on but smells of old ladies' talcy armpits to me....

horsemadgal · 27/03/2007 00:08

Lush Enzymion, about £10 I think.
Great on my 'problem' skin and smells lovely.
