Excellent offer at lookfantastic.com - you get a £90 hairdryer (a £90 hairdryer???? mine was £4 from Tesco) thrown in.

Oh, it's infra-red. That's OK then.

Are they really that good or will my 20 quid ones from Sainsburys do the job just as well?

LadyMacbeth · 07/02/2007 17:08

GHDs are better than ANY other straightener McDreamy (IMHO)

MrsSpoon · 07/02/2007 17:08

Just splashed out on some GHDs from my hairdresser, fantastic deal!

MrsSpoon · 07/02/2007 17:09

GHDs are fab, fab, fab. Much better than my Hair Tools staighteners.

Fimbo · 07/02/2007 17:10

These are the creme de la creme of hair straightners and yes they do make a HUGE difference.

Now, I have just had my birthday do you think I could convince dh to buy them for me as a Valentines present/mothers day present combined?

Piffle · 07/02/2007 17:10

love my ghd's

lazyline · 07/02/2007 17:15

How are they better than a standard ceramic straightener? £200 better?

Piffle · 07/02/2007 17:17

umm ghds are not £200 more than normal ones
Anyone want a pair of large plate whizzy remington straighteners btw?
Got GHD's for xmas and no longer need them.
They cost about £40 new last year

JanH · 07/02/2007 17:18

The GHDs are £120, not £200. And the "Old Generation" ones are only ("only") £85

OP posts:
MrsSpoon · 07/02/2007 17:25

Don't know why they are better but my Hairtools straighteners were supposed to be salon straighteners and at the time were half the price of GHDs, I was quite happy with them until they broke and I have replaced them with GHDs.

The new generation GHDs apparently detect the condition of your hair and adjust the temperature accordingly, they also heat in seconds and switch themselves off after 15 mins if you leave them on accidently.

Mrs Spoon I need to ask you something...

I am correct in thinking you are a JW?

If so, it is okay to send an Anniversary card? thanks... not to you of course my PIL

MrsSpoon · 07/02/2007 17:40

Mellowma, you are right I am a JW. We do celebrate wedding anniveraries and I'm sure your PIL will be delighted to receive a card from you.

[harrumph] and there was me thinking I was getting an anniversary card from a woman I had never met when my anniversary isn't for another 9 months.

kittylette · 07/02/2007 17:43

i LOVE my GHDs, i have a black pair and a pink pair

i cant imagine not owning a pair!!

ItsMeMellowma · 07/02/2007 17:51

lol

Just wanted to check it was okay, I do send them one each year but its always at the back of my mind that are perhaps just being polite and they really don't celebrate it..and I like to make a fuss as I don't send them birthdays cards etc.. anyways I know now, so can get them something nice...

Let me know a few days before your too and I shall send you one too...

Thank you!!

Hijack over...

MrsSpoon · 07/02/2007 17:53

LOL, might hold you to that!

naughtynoonoo · 07/02/2007 17:55

Don't think people realise how good GHD's are until they have used them themselves - oh could life get any easier!

oranges · 07/02/2007 17:56

how did this turn into a thread about jehovah's witnesses and anniversaries?
