I have mr muscle stuff and also some non-toxic stuff i bought when i was 36 weeks pregnant - cleaning the oven seemed like a good idea at the time!

I want something that requires minimum effort. LOL!

Oh yes! Coddy introduced the idea of the guy that cleans your oven a wee while back! It got a lot of people on MN very excited.... He spent 4 hrs cleaning it if I remember rightly Coddy? Cost about £50??

Mr muscle is good but make sure you wear rubber gloves my oven was really horrible and it got that clean?

Also for future reference you could put a thin oven tray at the bottom and it collects all the muck that falls. and you just get it out every so often to clean it.

If oven mate is the one in the tall bottle with the brush (link didn't work), I bought some and never used it, and when the ovenu man came I mentioned it to him - in a "how about if I use this for maintenance" way - and he all but sneered at it.

(So I haven't. And now my oven is filthy again. Hm - wait a minute...!)

I heard about Ovenu from here - they are great. I have a double oven, took him 3 hours and cost £59 - well worth every penny. I'm going to have him come back next year :0 I am trying though

Ovenclean. Contact them on 0800 7833257.

They made mine look like new and I will never clean my oven myself ever again. Sell the kids to raise the money if you have to

Do they just do the oven itself or will they do the tray things - you know, the bits you stand your tray of food on, the grill type bit (what the hell are those things called???)

My oven has the grill built in, will they clean that too? Thats the worst, bits of fat spit on it, then when I use the oven it bakes them...

Lisa, they dismantle the oven completely, it's amazing - they take every little bit out to the van which has a huge tank of cleaning gunk in it.

Mine lost the screws for the fan But found some others later and came back and put it back together. (As he had charged me £10 extra in the first place because he'd had to travel quite a long way, I was quite pleased about that!)

Do not bother paying £10 to have your hob done though - it's no better than one's own feeble efforts.

The only bit that they can't do is the grill pan as it is in contact with your food.

Oven clean have frachises all round the country. the free phine number will put your request to your local franchise holder. I'm nothing to do with the company, I've just used them and they are brill! Made the oven look like a new one.

hmb, ovenuman did my grillpan, and the shelves have food put directly on them and he did those too...

(maybe on the grounds that they would be less toxic clean than they were before! )

Nope.

Did ask him if mine was the worst he'd cleaned and he said no, but he hesitated first....
