I got a DS Lite for Christmas. I have the Brain Training game which I really lik, but I need more!

I like Sims type games, strategy/smilualtion, although open to other ideas as well. Maybe sports game as well.

So what shall I get myself?

Oh, and do the Gameboy Advance games really work as well on it? Sims 2 isn't available (out of stock) on DS, but in stock on GBA.

My friend got her dd one for christmas and she said all the gameboy advance games work on it. I would double check tho, coz she's a bit dim sometimes!! The dogs game is really good, it's like having a pet but without the hassle!

It does say it can use the GBA games, just wondered if they work as well as DS ones really.

Have you tried Animal crossing as a lot of older kids like it? It's educational too, ds1 keeps amazing me with animal stuff he's learnt.

yULeYSEES · 26/12/2006 11:33

gameboy advance do work on it btw.

hulababy · 26/12/2006 11:39

my 7yr old loves supermario.

I got him tetris for christmas which he likes too - and calms my middle class mumminess as I think it is good for him!

hulababy · 26/12/2006 22:23

Not sure about Mario - not really been into platform games before. I saw Trauma Centre on play.com Tetris is out of stock on play.

Great thread Hula! I got a DS Lite for chrimbo too with the Brain Training game.

(I was a bit cross with it on Christmas Eve as it was being offensive about my brain age: then I realised it was the end of a long day with lots of alcohol ... I did a lot better this morning )

tamum · 26/12/2006 23:13

Big Brain Academy is good too

hulababy · 26/12/2006 23:14

LOL roisin. My brain age was VERY high according to the program yesterday. My sister got same age today too. My brain age has come down a lot today. My recorded one (first one I did today) brought it down to 45, but I did a test this evening (not recorded sadly) and it was 31
