I got a DS Lite for Christmas. I have the Brain Training game which I really lik, but I need more!

I like Sims type games, strategy/smilualtion, although open to other ideas as well. Maybe sports game as well.

So what shall I get myself?

i asked the same question on here about getting the gameboy advance games for ds's ds lite. i was told although they do work they only use one of the screens and something else - cant remember what, will look for thread and let you know. the GBA are cheaper thou. maybe someone could try and let us know. thanks

i bought ds over the hedge, madagascar and sonic heroes. and i cant play any of them - he seems to manage though

Hulababy · 27/12/2006 14:38

I have a strategy one called Zoo Tycoon, its brill.

It's all based on building and maintaining a zoo and its animals etc, it's fab and I can't put it down.

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 27/12/2006 15:07

Have you started your training yet Hula?

I got my DS Lite as n arly mas pressie and I'm totally hooked on the training.
I can't decide what game to get next either.

I can recommend the browser for it if you have wireless internet.
I take mine to bed and mumsnet from there with it

roisin · 27/12/2006 15:57

Ooh Ooh I got a brain age today of 5 yrs less than my real age

I like the sound of Zoo Tycoon - may go for that for my birthday!

Hattiecat · 27/12/2006 16:00

i have an unhealthy obsession with zoo keeper. got brain training for xmas and am really enjoying that, but feel a muppet reading out loud so have to wait til everyon'e out to do that! old brain age though...

DimpledThighs · 27/12/2006 16:58

hula - from what I have seen of supermario it is some platform stuff (running down slopes a la sonic the hedgehog) but you also do 'puzzles' like trying to work things out and stuff.

I was put off by just a platform game but have been told it is more than that.

It absolves my aforementioned middle class mummy angst that he has to work stuff out.

If you need a more detailed explantion I will ask my 7yr old.

Hulababy · 28/12/2006 14:22

Yes have started my training. Started Christmas Day and hooked. I have now got a brain age of 32, which is a year younger than I am but still a bit short of 20 years. So I am getting there, lol!

Nemo - have Paypalled you, thanks.
It is my birthday in Feruary so going to get some more of these games then I hope.

Nintendogs is good but Sims 2Pets is even better. Also love brain training (for myself only of course)

lunavix · 29/12/2006 17:56

hula don't know if you have the urbz but it's FANTASTIC

It's like the Sims (think it's made by the same people) but better.

It truly is great.

lunavix · 29/12/2006 17:57

My 2yo is obsessed with nintendogs, he has an unhealthy obsession with golden retrievers. He can feed them, take them for walks, play with toys, bath them.. it astounds me how much he can do with it. He's only allowed a very unlimited time on it much to his horror

pandagirl03 · 29/12/2006 23:41

hello you can play gameboy advance games on the ds lite, but only the top screen will play them and they wont be touch screen or anything. you will only be able to use same controls as you can on the gameboy advance iykwim

Hulababy · 30/12/2006 09:53

Thanks pandagirl - so definitely not as good or the same as proper DS games then.

BUMP for Nemo - did you get my e-mail/paypal?

Pheonix wright and trauma centre are good strategy games. Trauma centre is quite hard but Pheonix Wright is fantastic.

WideWebWitch · 30/12/2006 10:07

I LIKE the brain training thing! I started with a brain age of 70 and got it down to 37 in a day

Hulababy · 01/01/2007 11:29
