Coddylicious · 21/05/2004 12:56

so I sent hem this
"Comments:
I have just returned a white cap sleeved t shirt to your store that shrunk after the first wash. I w as told by your assistants that it had to be washed " as wool" which IMO for a cotton item is ludicrous. I washed it on an average 40degree wash and it shrunk. Now I am told that there are no more white t shirts in the warehouse anyway so have had to have a turquoise one. This is really no good. I will go to Next next timne where they are £3 cheaper! "

Coddylicious · 21/05/2004 12:57

and they DID NOT READ IT and replied lke this:

Thanks for your e-mail. I am so sorry about the problem you've had with our T-shirt.

Quality is a number one priority for us and we work closely with our suppliers to be sure that all our goods are produced to the very highest standards. So I'm most concerned by what you tell us.

If you would like to return the T-shirt to your local store, our staff there will be happy to help you. They can take a look at it to find out exactly what's gone wrong and will fully resolve your complaint for you.

Thanks again for getting in touch - we appreciate it.

spacemonkey · 21/05/2004 12:58

Piffleoffagus · 21/05/2004 12:58

Seriously crap customer service though

Coddylicious · 21/05/2004 13:00

Ho do you get through to the head honcho at M and s then?

spacemonkey · 21/05/2004 13:02

who are you calling a ho coddy?

Coddylicious · 21/05/2004 13:09

he he

Demented · 21/05/2004 16:33

I notice loads of their Per Una stuff is wool wash. I usually don't pay any attention if it's a t-shirt and wash it at a normal 40 wash, haven't had one shrink yet. I didn't realise their cap sleeve t-shirts were wool wash, all mine are last year's, maybe it's a new thing?

CountessDracula · 21/05/2004 16:38

Cods I'm wearing one and it says 40 with a broken line under it ie what does that mean? Says nowt about wool wash

hercules · 21/05/2004 16:40

lol at ho

tiamaria · 21/05/2004 16:41

CD - one line under the 40 means delicates, two lines means wool wash. Hth.

scoobysnax · 21/05/2004 16:41

I have written to M&S before - they never take any notice of what you say and are quite arrogant generally in the tone of their replies, in a "we know better than you" way.

I would hope they would say thanks for your comments we really appreciate them and we will put them into action, here's a £10 voucher. But no, they just try to fob you off with a crap reply. No wonder they are get such useless financial results.

I suggest you address a letter to the new head honch by name. Good luck.

tweeny · 21/05/2004 16:43

theres a lot of cod in this thread

Piffleoffagus · 21/05/2004 16:53

I never knew that about the dashes under the 40 degree symbol..
Lucky my washing is unshrunk by sound of it...

Coddylicious · 21/05/2004 17:20
