Don't get any motorola - i and a couple of my friends got the razr last year and we all have had loads of probs with the battery/sim card/switiching itself on and off.
Also you can't 'lock' the phone - soon as you flip it open - little fingers can do a lot of damage.

BadHair · 15/12/2006 21:49

I have a nokia 6230 that was dh's cast off. He's now got a this rather nifty one .

I have a nokia 3210.

Or possibly 3120.

Either way, I am happy with it but appreciate it is hardly cutting edge .

I have a 6 year old phone. The Nokia that you can drop and it doesn't break, it bounces. And ds can throw it, suck it, bite it and it's totally fine. (Also it is orange!). Does anyone know of a newer phone like this? I'd love to know of one

drummumadrumming · 15/12/2006 22:26

bloody hell RTKangaSANTAMummy... I clicked on the link.. then the phone and the music made me nearly fall off the chair

Didn't get to see the phone...

SaintGeorge · 15/12/2006 23:08

RTKM - do you have any problems with the memory stick on the K750i?

I have the D750i and the cover for the memory stick is flexible rubber and comes open very easily. Nearly every time I try to use the camera it says 'no memory stick detected' and I have to push it back into place again. Very annoying.

DH was thinking of getting the K750i but didn't want to find it had the same problem.

airy · 15/12/2006 23:14

I've got a Motorola SLVR and love it, I havn't had any problems with it at all. It's the red one i've got.

EmmyLou · 15/12/2006 23:24

EllieChocolateOrange - your phone sounds suspiciously like mine. I have dh's old Nokia. It's very worn, but pretty indestructable with orange bits on the side.

Would like one that takes pictures etc like dd1's but I do have a tendancy to drop things. And don't know if I could be arsed to learn how to use all the gadgets and add all those numbers to my phone book.

EmmyLou · 15/12/2006 23:25

(Drummerdrumming - same happened here with link music

RTKangaSANTAMummy · 15/12/2006 23:25

Sorry about the music

StG I have never had a prob with the rubber cover and I got my phone july 2005 so about 18 months ago

And it is used daily the camera is really deffo brill and easy to use

RTKangaSANTAMummy · 15/12/2006 23:27

I do have a BODY GLOVE COVER for it

it is rubber and so keeps it safe

EmmyLou · 15/12/2006 23:27

Hmmm.

EmmyLou · 15/12/2006 23:31

EmmyLou: "DH, if you're stuck for present for me, how about the Sony Erricson K750i?"

DH: "What? How do you know about this? Who have you been talking to? Have you been on mumsnet???"

SaintGeorge · 15/12/2006 23:47

Cheers RTKM. I guess the body glove cover keeps the chip cover pushed down.

The 2 models are almost identical and that is the only gripe I have with my phone, everything else is great.

Blondilocks · 15/12/2006 23:49

I've got a K750i, but have had it for a few yrs so would now like the W850i.

EllieChocolateOrange · 16/12/2006 00:02

Hi EmmyLou, no mine is orange ALL OVER! No news of an indestructible phone then?!
