Hi
I met Richard Wood from the Hampshire Garden Furniture at a show. I saw his gazebos and asked for price list, to which he said it is utterly dependant on the garden and would need to look at the garden and provide a quote. He took down my contact details to contact me later, luckily I only wrote down my name and address and didn't sign anything or pay any deposit.
A couple of weeks later, he contacted me to arrange to perform the quote. During the quote alarm bells started ringing as he didn't seem to know much technically about gazebos, didn't conduct any proper measurement and refused to quote different prices and packages for me (or even discuss the options in any detail)
He he wrote the quote on one of the infamous delivery and order forms which I refused to sign, I informed him it is too expensive and I can't afford it. At that point he offered me an interest free loan (between friends and not through proper HP) which I also declined.
He left me with the blue copy (no printed Ts&Cs nor verbally discussed) and told me to consider the quote during the next couple of days as my discount would only be valid till then.
I've not heard anything yet and am hoping that the fact that I never signed any paperwork nor provided any payment details is suffice to avoid any of his shenanigans.
Had anyone experienced issues in the past from Hampshire Garden Furniture even without signing any forms?
Also I'm happy to support anyone who is embroiled in legal dispute with regards to his selling technique and modus operandi. Please feel free to contact me.
