just have to tell you all this.
We bought a salt mill last year from them which was supposed to have a fab mechanism for rock salt(which dh thinks is the most fab thing)
But just last week it ground to a halt But we have lost the receipt.
So I looked at the manufacturer site but its all in German so thought this afternoon I will call Lakeland and ask if they could possibly help.

Anyway spoke to a lovely lovely lady there who searched for the mill, but found they no longer stock it and in any case the last price she had for it was a sale price 1/2 of what we paid for it. But she offered to send me a cheque for the full price. How lovely was that.
It seems all products from them have a lifetime guarantee.

I am just so impressed with this service I had to tell others.

I also love Lakeland. I've never had to return anything - when I haven't liked an item they have always refunded and asked me to give it to a charity shop! And when I phoned up the day after placing an order to ask if they could add something to it, the order had already been dispatched so they just put the extra stuff in the post without charging me another p&p. How good is that!?

There were so many threads here on MN when Michelle died...just gives you some idea of how loved Lakeland is.

AitchTwoOh · 24/11/2006 16:39

oh poor Michelle, she was lovely.
i didn't know that about the lifetime guarantee, that's amazing. they are brilliant, though... i never manage to go in there without spending a fortune. i do hope you ladies buy your ridiculously expensive but actually amazingly good vegetable bags there... they really do work.

gscrym · 24/11/2006 16:41

I was going to buy their triple ginger pud instead of the usual Christmas one. Are their foody things any good.

LadyTophamHatt · 24/11/2006 16:44

You all have to go to lakeland shop.

OMG it's amazing!!

I wandered around looking like a nutter at all the stuff...just loads and loads of stuff that you have no idea you needed until you see it there in front of you.

FAB shop!!

gscrym · 24/11/2006 16:46

I need those expensive veg bags. I think I'll go a bit mad when I go into Glasgow on Monday. They have a Lakeland shop.

fullmoonfiend · 24/11/2006 16:46

I hate lakeland - because i go in there for one thing and spend a bloody fortune
Does anybody know if they're selling festive cellophane bags for cookies/fudges etc?

seb1 · 24/11/2006 16:48

The Lakeland Shop in Windermere has tv monitors in the toilets. Just thought I'd share that.

LadyTophamHatt · 24/11/2006 16:48

when i first found the one in eastbourne I thought i'll just pop in and have a look around, I didn't need anything.

£46 later I left the shop.

2nd visit was £26.
3rd was £34.

Dh will ban me from teh shop soon.

Ulysees · 24/11/2006 16:57

Wow that's amazing and great

I bought a load from them recently and loved the stuff. The little micro pan is excellent but it's cracked. Still does it's job but maybe I should tell them?

fullmoonfiend · 24/11/2006 17:12

LTH - that's exactly what I mean

(Ikea has a worse effect IMO - in addition to whatever one item you went for, you will always fritter £40 on fripparies...)

suedonim · 24/11/2006 17:14

I love Lakeland too! I always spend too much in there but you get a lot for your money, loads of little bits and pieces and the bags are fabbie for reusing.

Seb, I didn't realise those were TV monitors in the loos!! Dd and I couldn't fathom out what the panels were on the day we visited (obviously, the TV wasn't working!) - we thought maybe they were some sort of ultrasound hand cleaning device or even a (massive) bugging device.

NAB3 · 24/11/2006 17:22

My last order was for well over £50 but I love my proper filleting knife, and mango splitter. Plus I got some oven cleaner for free as I had spent so much and it is really good! Lakeland is FAB!!

Ulysees · 24/11/2006 17:25

I love my thing for getting stuff out of microwave Plus my fish steamer for mic.

roisin · 24/11/2006 17:25

Their customer service is fab isn't it? They really should do consultancy work to train staff for other companies.

The other day I was trying to place an order online and the website was playing up, so I phoned instead. The woman on the phone was lovely - really apologetic, but helpful and friendly. I was quite cross and frustrated when I phoned, and she handled it beautifully!

NAB3 · 24/11/2006 17:28

I have had that too. I once spent what felt like all day trying to order and just gave up and rang in the end. They were very apologetic and aware of the problem.

SoMuchToBits · 24/11/2006 17:31

fullmoonfiend - I have bought those cellophane bag things from them in the past (it was this summer)but don't know if they have them in stock at the moment.Actually, yes, I have just looked in the catalogue - 50 sweetie bags,£2.00 ref.10868

janeite · 24/11/2006 18:08

They have cellophane Christmas bags with holly on.

Mala · 24/11/2006 20:44

I think they are great too. They send me the wrong item by mistake. When I called them to let them know, they said I could keep it(or donate it to charity)- it was worth £30, and that they would send me the correct item.

Ulysees · 24/11/2006 23:48

How's this for service??? Only emailed them tea time

Dear Mrs Ulysees

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us. I'm sorry to hear that your microwave saucepan turned out to be faulty. I can understand how disappointing this must have been.

I've already arranged for a replacement to be sent to you - this should be with you in the next six to eight working days.

I don't want to put you to any more trouble, so don't worry about returning the damaged item to us. Perhaps you could dispose of this for us.

As always, if there's anything else we can help you with, please do let us know. You can email us at [email protected] or call our friendly customer services team on 015394 88100. We're available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Ellen Fairgrieve

They are AWESOME!

Love them and their products.

marthamoo · 25/11/2006 00:20

They are just fab. I bought one of those Beaba Babycook things when ds2 was a baby (it cooks food, not babies). Used it - was great, put it away. My friend had a baby a year later and I lent it to her - and it put little bits on the food - like some kind of limescale. I rang Lakeland to ask if they could recommend any kind of de-scaling product - and they insisted on sending me a brand new one! I didn't have the box, I had no receipt, it was well out of warranty - I explained all that and the customer services woman said "that's fine, Mrs moo - not a problem." They are brilliant.

fullmoonfiend · 25/11/2006 10:19

thank you Somuch and Janeite!!!

KristinaM · 25/11/2006 10:35
