just have to tell you all this.
We bought a salt mill last year from them which was supposed to have a fab mechanism for rock salt(which dh thinks is the most fab thing)
But just last week it ground to a halt But we have lost the receipt.
So I looked at the manufacturer site but its all in German so thought this afternoon I will call Lakeland and ask if they could possibly help.

Anyway spoke to a lovely lovely lady there who searched for the mill, but found they no longer stock it and in any case the last price she had for it was a sale price 1/2 of what we paid for it. But she offered to send me a cheque for the full price. How lovely was that.
It seems all products from them have a lifetime guarantee.

I am just so impressed with this service I had to tell others.

I bought a tiny little jug from the Truro store once when I was on holiday and used it in the microwave which I wasn't supposed to apparently. and it broke. I phoned them when I got home and they said "Oh no - don't use it in the microwave. We'll send you a new one"

which I thought, considering it was my fault, was pretty good service

I'm also banned (by DH )from going in the shops though but we don't have one here so usually that's ok

DelGirl · 25/11/2006 11:48

wow, amazing service. Why can't all shops be like that? I have a Lakeland within walking distance. Me think's i'm going to have another browse. Each time i've been in there it's just been for a quick look on my way home.

I remember about 15 years ago being pretty impressed with the customers service, I ordered glass casseroles and one got broken in transit. No quibble, straight away sent a full set of 3 to replace even though only one was broken. Lady on phone very concerned and wanted to know if I felt it was badly packaged. It was very well packaged I think DHL man had been playing football .

I just wander round lakeland all and

AitchTwoOh · 25/11/2006 23:35

but does everyone buy THE CRAZY GREEN VEG BAGS? honestly, they work!
and i would LOVE to hear from anyone with a Remoska... they look so shit but according to the late-lamented Michelle et al are amazing.

brimfull · 25/11/2006 23:35

Really good to learn that.I bought a simmer plate to go on a gas hob and it has warped.Thought I'd just have to put up with it wobbling but will go and ask for a replacemnet now!
Thanks.

Flamesparrow · 25/11/2006 23:51

What are they Aitch? I have th epotato bag that I love

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2006 00:09

i used to have the bread bag, which was great, but it ripped and i threw it out. (am now wondering if it would be wrong to phone them about it...?)

the veggie bags here are ridiculously expensive, nearly a fiver for 20, but they are miraculous and you can wash them and re-use them. i operate a vegetable hierarchy that goes from salad leaves to carrots and sweet potatoes. they look like they wouldn't work but basically they extend the life of, say, a head of broccoli for a week or so. if you decant salad then it stays fresh for a week, that sort of thing...

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2006 00:09

oh, there's no point in getting the small bags, they are useless. the big ones are the best.
i reckon i buy these twice a year, so they do last.

mummycan · 26/11/2006 01:46

I have a remoska - they are fab for cooking a cuple of fishfingers, sausages, reheating pizza - anything you use the oven for in fact - I wouldn't bother if I had a large family (only have the one dd) as not enough room but they are brilliant - and quick!

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2006 11:33

aaaah, so it's basically a mini-oven. i see. that sounds really good actually.

alibo · 26/11/2006 13:58

muumuycan, which size do you have? i do not live near a lakeland, but have been consideing ordering a remoska online. they do a grand, standard and mini size. i am usually making meals for myself and ds, but not sure if the mini one will perhaps be too small??

TheHighwayCod · 26/11/2006 14:02

Ulysees,I wrote to them about last night about my warped simmermat and got an almost identical email to yours this morning. They're also sending me a replacement. They're probably getting inundated with replacement requests from m'netters!

NotSoupyOhNoNoNoShesOnABreak · 26/11/2006 18:30

They've refunded me for the cookie press when I wrote to tell them the item was rubbish!

they're wonderful at customer service.
