I didn't think they still made astras, shows wat I know!

twinsetandpearls · 14/08/2006 00:47

But I couldn't do the school run like this

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 00:48

thats an awful kitted up one!

twinsetandpearls · 14/08/2006 00:52

Have looked at a more normal one and my friend has one and it is a fab little car and roomier inside than you first expect.

twinsetandpearls · 14/08/2006 00:53

Am not a fan of 3 doors though.

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 00:54

nor me now I have DS... I used to hate hate MPVs now I look longingly at them in Tesco car park!

brimfull · 14/08/2006 00:59

I'm very sad,I long for a volvo estate, seats 7 if needed and really spacious, last for years.

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 01:01

i would LOVE a volvo estate... nice green one.

twinsetandpearls · 14/08/2006 01:16

WE are getting a multipla so not sporty but not dull either

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 01:17

whats a multipla?

NedKelly1978 · 14/08/2006 07:12

don't like multiplas at all, it's so ugly .

If I were to buy a 'normal' small car, I would probably either go for a golf gti or a seat ibiza. The seat looks boring, but it has the same engine in it as my 1.8 turbo MPV, and my MPV is fast, so one of them must be very nippy!

I lvoe minis. My tannign lady had a new mini when she came on sat. It was gorgeous, huge alloys, and convertible. the only thing that would put me off is a friend had one and it was so noisy. Because they are small, there isn't a lot of padding.

I could also be tempted by the smart forfour brabus. It has 1777bhp and does 0-60 in somethign like 6.9 seconds! We had a smart car for nearly 3 weeks last month (though not that one!) and I got rather attached to it! They are cute little cars.

I can dream anyway, I have four kids, so will never be able to buy anything that small!

NedKelly1978 · 14/08/2006 07:14

here is a multipla

Thats an older one though, the new one don't have the distinctive frog look any more.

hub2dee · 14/08/2006 08:00

Just the two of you ? Need an antidote to feeling mumsy ?

Get a sports car, Megg ! Or maybe a convertible !

hub2dee · 14/08/2006 08:01

(You can get 4 seat convertibles btw if you need sensible too . We got our Mountain Buggy in the boot of our Saab converitble no prob btw).

It's a brand new one this summer!

UrsulatheSeawitch · 14/08/2006 10:45

The 207 was ripped into on Top Gear for being slooooow, wasn't it? (Raced across L'pool against those mad boys who jump off buildings?)

zippitippitoes · 14/08/2006 10:47

but top gear is rubbish..it's entertainmnet rather than car buffs

UrsulatheSeawitch · 14/08/2006 10:48

RUBBISH??? Wash your mouth out, zippi

I know they are big boys playing with big brm-brms!

fairyjay · 14/08/2006 11:28

I love the mini, but there's so little room in the boot.

er I have just got a new mini and I love it!

  • it is small inside and the boot is tiny (for me though as a retiree it doesn't matter and dh's car is huuuge!).

However, if you're a driver you'll love the handling, sticks to the road like glue, seats are tres comfortable too.

Oh and I'm not trying to be cool or anything else, just like the shape, the comfort, the drive and the fun factor.
