I have an interview with BeneFit (woo hoooooooo and as part of the preparation for my try out I have been asked to find out about four products; Dr Feelgood, You Rebel, High Beam and BeneTint. Have any of you tried these (or any other) products? I LOVE Dr Feelgood, but haven't tried the others. Am off to the counter to have a quick scout tomorrow, but I'd be grateful of any help you could give me x

i use dr feelgood, and high beam. I LOVE benefit products!!! They are my fave! Highbeam is really nice accentuates the cheeks, I think it's a highlighter. Goes on nicely and not too heavy! Benetint is a bit much for me, too bright!!!

good luck with your interview

gothicmama · 02/08/2006 20:28

if you get the job and send free samples I will tell all on YOuRebel

ooh you twisted my arm it is fab tinted moisturiser which tones to you skin collour (darkest shade) very easy to apply can look fab if you use dallas with it also works well with boi ing concealer

MrsBadcrumble · 02/08/2006 20:33

I have Dr Feelgood, which I love but it dries my skin out a bit too much. It's great for the odd night out.
I also use High Beam and love it.
MIL loves Benetint.
I have their version of Touche Eclat (OOhLaLift?) and I use it as a highlighter round the eyes. IMO the stuff they spout about it being a treatment, ie you put it round the eyes daily, is pointless, because it's too pale to be of any use. (And I am pale.)
I have tried a couple of their moisturisers but I think they're really overpriced.
Their make-up is good though. I have used my lip gloss to death and need a new one.
I like the company, but I think only a couple of the products suit me personally.

littlelamb · 02/08/2006 20:44

Thank you all. Gothicmama I will keep you in mind

HighBeam is lovely. It's the one Kylie uses to give that supermodel sheen - you use it on areas you want to highlight such as cheekbones and browbones. My friend says "I can be having a shit day but when I put on HighBeam, I am Kylie"

I haven't used Benetint myself (scared of looking like Coco the Clown) but another friend uses it and she always looks very sweet and fresh faced, as if she has been out milking cows and bathing in dew etc.

Smile
Cappucino · 02/08/2006 21:37

why couldn't you have asked about Lemon Aid?

I could go on all night about Lemon Aid

Piffle · 02/08/2006 21:39

yes buy everything
DR Feelgood is EXCELLENt and will last you forever...
You rebel is very dark I mix it with other moisturiser do not use it as a sole product but I find it works really well this way

Highbean is lovely
And Benetint I use every day lovely rosy glow

littlelamb · 02/08/2006 21:40

Cappucino please go on all you want! The more I know the more impressed they'll be!

High Beam is fab, very easy to use and versatile - i am on my 3rd pot!

Dr Feelgood - great as a base on a fab night out - or good to use on a no make-up sunday, where you can't be arsed with full slap but dont want to scare anyone

BeneTint is good, but you need a friendly trained BeneFit counter lady to show you how to get the most from it :-) but from then on it can be used in lots of different ways. Not good if you spill it on cream carpet though. It doesn't come out. EVER.

I can't wear You Rebel as it is too dark and I can't be bothered with mixing it with a 100 other things ot make it suit my skintone.

Can you tell I am a bit of a BeneFit fan? I order it online from the US website It is cheaper (and sometimes you dont have to pay the VAT, if the delivery man forgets to ask you) and you get the most amazing parcel, full of little freebies and handwritten notes. I am a sucker....

Cappucino · 02/08/2006 22:04

ooh okay then

I love Lemon Aid cos it stops your eyelids looking all red and puffy

I switched to that from using undereye concealer and find it's far more effective at making me look as if I've had some sleep

some days it's the only make-up I use and it's certainly the only one I need

vitomum · 02/08/2006 22:08

Dr Feelgood majics away open pores but you can't wear it everyday if you have dry skin.

I like the benetint too. Is a good lip stain then just top up lip gloss throughout the day.

I have recently heard friends raving about the bad lash mascara too.

best of luck with the interview

MrsBadger · 02/08/2006 22:16

of the four you mention I only use BeneTint - as a lip stain mixed with some v expensive lip balm from my mum.

Also rate Lemon Aid (for eyelids as mentioned above), the Boi-ing concealer (for under-eye bags and nose shadows) and the It Stick (for nose-to-mouth wrinkles and as highlighter round eyes)

Heathcliffscathy · 02/08/2006 22:36

Love highbeam.; got a bottle before my wedding (five years ago)_ and still using it. love their eyeshadow. in fact love benefit. t hink that beyond the gimmickry thye are great products.

twinsetandpearls · 02/08/2006 22:38

I love benefit cosmetics and rarely buy anything elase, I use highbeam and benetint and love their bad girls eyeliner. Their foundations are also fab as are the youe rebel tinted moisturizers.

bagpuss30 · 02/08/2006 22:43

I use benetint lip balm which I like as it gives a bit of colour without being too obvious.

Cappucino, I am another fan of lemon aid too .

I also like Dandelion which was recommended to me by another mner, in fact I would say I couldn't live without that and the lemon aid in my make up bag now.

WaitingForGodKnows · 02/08/2006 22:45

I use BeneTint and love it - although you do have to be careful when applying to avoid the Aunt Sally look. It's very versatile and a little goes a long way so a bottle lasts for ages.

Don't use any of the others you mention - although I know everyone loves High Beam and I keep meaning to buy some! But I use Boi-ing concealer everyday and it is fabulous - the best I've ever found (yes, you may quote me )

I absolutely love Benefit - like sophable says they are somewhat gimmicky in their packaging/promo but the products are actually excellent.

MagicGenie · 02/08/2006 22:50

Hey Cappuncino, I'm so with you on Lemon Aid. Never without it.

Top tip everyone...if you mix a dab of High Beam in with your normal foundation, you get a great 'glow'!!

Littlelamb - the way I describe BeneFit products to my mates is to say that they help you make the best of what you've got rather than encouraging you to slap loads of shite on to mask/hide it. They've actually got useful make-up products, rather than things you get home and desperately try and remember what the sales person told you to do with it.

And their packaging/labelling/marketing has a sense of humour about it.

Great stuff.

Cappucino · 03/08/2006 10:56

littlelamb how did it go?

are you going to do an Angela Buttolph-style consultation for us?

FrannyandZooey · 03/08/2006 12:11

Talk me into LemonAid, then. Is it better than Touche Eclat?

MrsJohnCusack · 03/08/2006 12:13

I have the Doctor Feelgood because so many people raved about it but I don't know how to use it - and would love to magic away open pores

do you use it over foundation? or cover up? or moisturiser? or nothing? I don't understand it

I always hover by the benefit things and then leave with nothing

BeneTint is one of my faves I have it in three different things. One is the original (nail polish) bottle. Great for cheeks and lips, dot on and blend like hell. In the balm pot for lips, lovely and very convienent for the car/handbag. And the stick with benetint at one end and clear gloss the other end. Two wands, pop on tint, let dry finish with gloss, very glam for night out.

I also like High beam but for out on the town glam rather than everyday. (am sure they now do a new version of high beam which is a slightly different sheam for different skin tones etc.)

Good luck!

southeastastra · 03/08/2006 12:23

wow hope you get the job!! is it skanky to get benefit products off ebay??

littlelamb · 03/08/2006 12:34

Thanks for asking cappucino. I had a different interview this morning, one for a property management assistant at a letting agents, and I LOVED it! It was a really good interview and I really hope I get it. But I am still excited by the BeneFit interview. Its so good that so many people seem to love the products.
