you're right - you've a dodgy pair - still living in a pair I had 5 years ago.

kiera · 09/07/2006 22:08

I've hadmine about 7 years and I wear them every day in summer

amazonianwoman · 09/07/2006 22:43

Hope you don't mind me asking, but don't they get a bit whiffy? My 1st pair (2 yrs old) are still in great condition but STINK, and my second pair (about 2 mths old) are starting to smell too!

I don't have sweaty feet and none of my other shoes seem to smell???

stinkoids

MrsSpoon · 09/07/2006 22:44

Let us know how you get on Yorkiegirl. I am wearing a pair of Madrids at the moment and the top strap is slightly split, they are only a year old too.

MrsSpoon · 09/07/2006 22:44

They don't smell though.

stitch · 09/07/2006 22:46

mine dont smell, but the cork bit under my big toe seems to be disintegrating. thought that wasstn supposed to happen
bought them last year.

they would last about 10 seconds in my house as I would put them in the bin - ugliest shoes in the world!!

That was constructive, wasn't it?!

expatinscotland · 09/07/2006 23:20

PMSL, MamaG!

Eeeww, Jesus sandals they are.

controlfreaky2 · 09/07/2006 23:22

mamag and expat.... you are WRONG

expatinscotland · 09/07/2006 23:24

Well, true in one respect, freaky. I wouldn't bin them, I'd sell them on Ebay to some saddo who thought they were all right to wear in public. Or anywhere outside a re-enactment of The Passion.

MamaG · 09/07/2006 23:25

ROFL

Can't be without my heels/wedges

expatinscotland · 09/07/2006 23:30

Heels/wedges/or just a nice, strappy sandal.

You know, ones that look good and make your legs look good, too?

Birkies don't do anyone any favours.

controlfreaky2 · 09/07/2006 23:32

you are woman of dubious taste (and uncomfortable shoes)... if you cannot see the beauty that is a birkie there is no hope.... [flounce]

MamaG · 09/07/2006 23:33

never thought I'd see beauty and birkie in the same sentence

controlfreaky2 · 09/07/2006 23:35

hah! love a pointy black shoe of a weekday... but for the summer hols its got to be birkies...

yg - i got given a pair last year that are splitting too. >>
and only one of the pairs they were selling were leather - i went and looked at mine and they are not leather - shows how much attention I pay. I had a pair way back and they lasted years - very disappointing cos they are not cheap and if they're not even going to last there are plenty of knock offs out there

controlfreaky2 · 09/07/2006 23:40

yorkiegirl! that's no way to talk about yourself... and is hardly helpful to the birkie cause...

MamaG · 09/07/2006 23:41

Dont worry about the cause, I can state here and now that I will NEVER be converted !!
