... or, once you've fiddled with it 4 times does it never get touched again ?

TIA.

yes on long journeys it was indispensable

NomDePlume · 16/06/2006 13:14

I used it a lot with DD, right up until she was over 2. She always seemed more comfy reclined and she slept better too.

Kelly1978 · 16/06/2006 13:15

sometimes, if we are both in the car. I can't do them while I'm driving.

misdee · 16/06/2006 13:16

yes. on short trips out i have the seat upright, on longer journeys and trips to harefield i recline it for dd3 as i know she will fall asleep in the car seat. i have the britax eclipse and 1st class seats, neither have to be readjusted if you want to recline it.

beckybrastraps · 16/06/2006 13:18

Often. And now ds has a different seat that doen't recline he looks really uncomfortable when he's sleeping.

Hayls · 16/06/2006 13:18

We do it if dd falls asleep but only in dh's car with the Britax 1st class. I've got the Eclipse in my car and it has to be readjusted if you recline it so I don't bother cos I@m always on my own so can't dot it whiel driving. It's a real lifesaver IMO, dd looks so uncomfy when she falls asleep upright

Posey · 16/06/2006 13:19

Used to with dd, never have with ds. Don't know why not.

misdee · 16/06/2006 13:19

the eclipse doesnt have to readjusted, mine is the newer model, got it last year. does that make a difference?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 16/06/2006 13:19

Could never recline the car seat in our old car when ds was first born as it was so tiny in the back of the car there wasn't room! We had to get a new car to fit ds legs in! (Had sporty coupe car when ds was born)
Reminds me of the yellow pages ad.

spacecadet · 16/06/2006 13:33

very rarely.
didnt have reclining seats either when dd1 was born.

lahdeedah · 16/06/2006 13:35

yes - we have the MaxiCosi Priori XP and always recline the seat when DD falls asleep in the car. It's really easy to adjust.

Hayls · 16/06/2006 13:37

We only got the Eclipse a few months ago and had real probs getting it to fit securely (think it's just the type of car- in the end I had to put it in the front seat as it kept slipping out the red bits in the back seat). MAybe I don't have to readjust it then, wonder why I thought that?

hub2dee · 16/06/2006 13:38

OK. Thanks everyone. Am looking at Maxi Cosi Tobi (one hand easy recline) or Recaro Young Sport (hard to turn big knob with tricky one-position-only-and-even-then-not-very-much-recline), so was just seeing how essential or otherwise this feature is.

Thanks Again.

the red plastic bit is fiddly on the eclipse, i have to remove the other seats, get dd2 to sit in it (she is the heaviest) whilst i pull on the seat belt and work it into that clip.

but no need to readjust it when reclining.just pull the lever at the front under the seat.

busybusybee · 16/06/2006 13:40

We never use the recline feature on ours - dd isnt bothered and sleeps fine with it in the upright position

misdee · 16/06/2006 13:40

is the tobi the new isofix one?

and i used our reclien LOADS
ahd a maxi cosi one

Enid · 16/06/2006 13:46

oh god just buy a maxi cosi and have done with it

why DO men have to analyse these things endlessly Wink?

Cod · 16/06/2006 13:47

god eys i do atch agree

you will waste money on kids so live with it

:)

JackieNo · 16/06/2006 13:48

Maxi Cosi here too - use the recline if he falls asleep on long journeys as it's really easy - you can just reach back and do it with one hand.

hub2dee · 16/06/2006 14:02

We have to analyse everything because we are anal twats. Actually, I think it might be because men are less comfortable with making mistakes IYSWIM.

Anyway... Smile

The two I'm thinking about are the same price, but the Maxi Cosi Tobi has a few nice features (easy recline, harness held out of the way to enable easier sproglet insertion, tensioner on the seat belt), but the Recaro has better padding and will last much longer (9 years / 36 kilos as opposed to 4 years)

we have a maxi cosi and I used the recline just the other day when she fell asleep (she is 3).

hana · 16/06/2006 14:07

We use the recline on dd2 when she falls asleep or I know she will
it's a britax rennaisance
