Latest catalogue arrived with an insert offering 10 per cent off because I haven't bothered for a while plus a prize draw for filling in their online questionnaire. As an alternative to doing some work, filled in their questionnare. There's a button at the bottom entitled 'don't send me any more catalogues/I'm dumping Johnnie'. Grin

The copywriter who came up with 'I'm dumping Johnnie' deserves a pay rise.

i got one like this from verbaudet

bettythebuilder · 26/04/2006 21:47

I had the same letter from Verbaudet - hollow laugh from me when they 'threatened' I would no longer get a catalogue.
The last time I ordered from them the order took 9 weeks to arrive - they only told me that there would be a delay in delivery when the order was paid for.
I'm not overly upset at the thought of no more Verbaudet catalogues, tbh!

Passionflower · 26/04/2006 22:42

Ha ha! I got the £10 off when you spend £30. Bought some stuff for the DD's with it. Also hi-tailed it up to mums to see if my sis had been sent the same offer but she had just got a code for 10%.

edam · 26/04/2006 23:29

Oh yeah, it does actually say £10 off if spend £30 - they managed to send me three different discounts so had got muddled.

Vertbaudet don't stop sending you catalogues if you don't order - they've been threatening to excommunicate me for years. If you do want to order something (you know, say you really want a top that will shrink two sizes after one wash) it's worth hanging on as the offers get better and better the more desperate they get fro you to order.

To be fair, ds2 had a lovely duffel coat from them that has washed and washed - you have to choose with care, that's all.

SHHHH · 27/04/2006 16:06

yeah you are right marathamoo..we have bought dd a white dress (for christening) from verbaudet, not worn it yet but it does look better than their usual shoddy standards..

BUT we have had a baby sleep suit from 'em that basically has a hole where dd's "flower" is obviously her nappie covers her blushes but wtf is this all about..??!! Looks like she has a little tail type thing..! Also had a dreampod/growbag that broke after a few uses..dd actually broke it [shock} The metal poppers came away! Not good safety standards...what did I get in return..? Just my money..! No apology no payment for me returning the item no exgracia payment etc tec etc and this refund I HAD TO CHASE FOR 2 MONTHS..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answering an earlier post on here - yes, I find Boden VERY expensive. Am going to dump Johnnie too because I ordered some clothes for me for the first time from them recently and I'm not happy. The skirt is far too long and the the trousers have no belt loops (Ok, that's my fault, should have checked although not sure if it says) and, a faulty zip that keeps opening (definitely their fault, especially as the zip does not have one of those catches on it to keep it closed, like most other zips.) AND they send me a catalogue every bleedin' five mins too.

moondog · 27/04/2006 17:23

TT,why didn't you send the stuff back then??

TaiTai · 27/04/2006 22:56

Because I'd already taken the trousers up - I'm short - before I was able to wear them and realised the problem with the zip, so I felt I couldn't return them. Dunno why I didn't return the skirt, I think I thought maybe I'd have a go at wearing something longer than usual!

fairyglo · 27/04/2006 23:30

wow, so everyone else gets the catalogue every week too (actually two catalogues - one for dh plus an email offer every week or so). Talk about putting potential customers off - this endless junk from them really annoys me. What's worse is that about a year ago I filled in one of their questionnaires saying I had stopped buying because a) they were too expensive, b) their clothes never looked the same in RL as in the catalogue (colours etc) and c) their trousers were always a funny fit. I think my reply spurred them on to send me more information rather than less. So...how do I dump Jonnie and get rid of catalogue and emails?

SHHHH · 28/04/2006 16:57

with unwanted post...this is what I do....once I realise it's junk mail I seal the envelope back up, cross out my name and address and put something like "not at this address" and as for it be returned to sender!!

If an envelope if enclosed even better.. Grin Put EVERYTHING you have been sent into the return envelope and post it to them..This way they pay the postage with whatever way you decide to send it back..Grin..!!!!!

I also do this with junk mail from anywhere.!
