Has anyone else had Boden ask why you aren't shopping with them any more?

Latest catalogue arrived with an insert offering 10 per cent off because I haven't bothered for a while plus a prize draw for filling in their online questionnaire. As an alternative to doing some work, filled in their questionnare. There's a button at the bottom entitled 'don't send me any more catalogues/I'm dumping Johnnie'. Grin

The copywriter who came up with 'I'm dumping Johnnie' deserves a pay rise.

Enid used to.

My friend never buys anything from them and she got a letter asking why with £10 off when she sepnt £30. Much better than your offer.

She did buy some trousers with it so it worked.

moondog · 26/04/2006 14:41

Always
Mind you, when I do buy,I buy in bulk so always negotiate even more money off than they offer.
If they purport to care that much, then they should be working to keep me as a customer.

mcmudda · 26/04/2006 14:41

No - they seem to be sending me a catalogue a week at the moment though.

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 14:43

do you phone up and negotiate moondog? What kind of a deal do you get?

flobbleflobble · 26/04/2006 14:43

moondog how exactly can you negotiate extra money off from Boden?!!

Gingerbear · 26/04/2006 14:43

I am sick to death of the boden catalogues that seem to be delivered every 5 days.
I think I am dumping Johnnie too.

moondog · 26/04/2006 14:46

Well,if they say something like spend over £100 and get £10 off,I will say
'I'm planning to spend £300. Can I have £30 off?'
or whatever,depending on the deal.

I am not a mad clothes shopper btw.Just hate trasiling around shops so do all the shopping inone fell swoop a couple of times a year or so.

It pisses me off too that they send sooo many catalogues out.

mcmudda · 26/04/2006 14:47

Gingerbear - glad it's not just me then!

cece · 26/04/2006 17:23

I emailed to cancel my account and I had an email back asking why....

puddle · 26/04/2006 17:30

I have.
And I email them back saying why, if I am such a valued customer, am I only offered the standard discount (ie the one that's at the top of this page).

I only buy stuff for the kids though and not so much of that these days.

cece · 26/04/2006 17:32

I said it was because I was fed up getting a catalogue every week!

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 17:34

I hate being told how much they love me and how excessive their gratitude is for my custom - only to be offered a lousy 10% off...

SleepyJess · 26/04/2006 17:34

Don't any of you people find Boden rather infeasibly expensive??

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 17:36

For some things.

NotAnOtter · 26/04/2006 17:37

Yes sleepy and the tops too bloody short in the body!

misdee · 26/04/2006 17:38

some things are, but the girls vlothes are perfectly girly for dd1, and enoug hdalmation print to keep dd2 happy.

i am going to ebay their old stuff soon, as its in really good condition.

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 17:39

I buy quite a lot for the children but rarely anything for myself anymore.

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 17:40

misdee - there's a dalmatian t-shirt on there which always makes me think of you!

mcmudda · 26/04/2006 17:40

Also buying with a view to ebaying later. Bought ds the lobster T shirt because that's his nickname Smile

Mercy · 26/04/2006 17:40

I've been asked this too. I sometimes buy childrens clothes in the sale - for the children and dh!

I like some of womens clothing but I don't like a lot of the colours, patterns etc, plus their sizes are too long/too big for me.

misdee · 26/04/2006 17:42

\link{http://www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Mini&styid=31116&segid=5&gpname=Jersey+Tops&desname=Animal+T%2Dshirt&gpid=27&gen=1\this one?} she'd love it. but she has enough atm.

cupcakes · 26/04/2006 18:26

that's the one. I'm going to get it for dd if I see it in the sale.

SHHHH · 26/04/2006 21:04

verbaudet have sent me a similar mailing..asking why I haven';t ordered for ages and offering me discount etc etc etc.

The letter has a cheek to say " If they don't receive an order from me within x time they will cancel all future catalogues for me!!!" Saying that they are to expensive to produce and there are lots of other people waiting to become customers.!

Gosh..is that a threat of a promise Grin.

Personally I wish they would feck off as I am not impressed with the quality of their clothes!!

tracyk · 26/04/2006 21:10

I'd like some more discount too - lots of nice clothes for ds and if I thought he'd get 4 months continuos wear over summer out of them I'd pay up.
