You could ask if they could put the extra seats in can't remember how much it costs though

Good luck with the house job and car etc

Just to add; yes you would have to order booster(s) for V70 or XC70. XC90 comes with 1 central booster as standard. You don't have to have the boosters in place all the time, eg if you are giving adults a lift and not your children. They come into use if you pull a handle. Volvo accessories include, if you want, an extra support to put on top of the booster, eg for exytra neck support at the younger age limit for the seats.

Ive jsut changed my terrano for a seat alhambra. I miss the terrano which was nice and solid, very comfortable, felt safe, and could turn around offroad. But its turnign circle is huge, so it is a bit clumsy and sluggish, and everything was going wrong on it.

I've jsut bought a seat alhambra. Not sure about fuel consumption yet, and it feels a bit bumpy after a 4x4. But it is def more pratical, can fit the pushchair in behind the back row, get three car seats in the middle row. It's faster, more maneuverable, and has triptonic so will do manual as well. The tinted windows are a lot dfdarker, and the heated seats are brilliant. Loads of cubby holes for storage, and technology. The only thing I don't like about it is I miss have a 4x4 and I can't see the bloody bonnet. But it is dead easy to park as long as you don't have to worry about the front. You'd get a ready good one for £15k.

Oh and I love the cruise control coasting down the motorway with feet on the floor.

4blue1pink · 02/02/2006 17:58

i test drove xc90 but we need 7 seats and the back row were next to useless for big children - apart from that lovely

We drive chrysler and i think its bus-like but dh loves it and it sure goes!

4blue1pink - really?! The back seats are rubbish? Eek - that's not good at that price is it?!

I'd be happy with V70 or XC70 but now he's saying only an XC90 - I think the only thing to do is go and look at them in the flesh and test drive!

Just very low to the floor so an average sized 7 or 8 year old does not look THAT comfortable to me!

RTKangaMummy · 02/02/2006 18:10

our DS who is 10.5 went in the back ok

GDG · 02/02/2006 18:17

They actually look just like the other seats but I guess they need testing. However, my eldest is only coming up to 5 so it would be a long time before they got uncomfortable. Hmmm....

I am not sure whether JT would be wanting to sit there though

ernest · 03/02/2006 09:59

even my 5 yr old was squashed in rear seats of zafira. Def no good if you need to regularly use them or for bigger people.

After huge amount of research on this topic we got a peugeot 807 about 2 years ago & will replace it after about 3. The best 2 on the market are the 807 & the grand crysler, but the 807 comes out just that little bit better in tests, not much in it though. I have however test driven the crysler twice & didn't like it, even tho' their new stow n' go system is pretty cool. Still preferred the peugeot. The crysler was so noisy I was taken aback. Interior also very busy & old fashioned & cluttered. peugoet interior (controls etc) much tidier & smarter.
