Hi

I am currently struggling with what to download on my kindle and am just interested in what others are reading, esp the freebies Grin

Breathe - a novel of Colarado - not challenging but I want to know if there's a twist Wink

JiltedJohnsJulie · 07/08/2011 16:01

Hummingbird and the Bear, not a very challenging read but am enjoying it.

Scootergrrrl · 07/08/2011 16:03

Just finished Rosemarys Baby and about to start Into The Darkest Corner - both 99p when I bought them. William Walker's First Year of Marriage was funny and free, if I remember rightly. What kind of things do you like to read?

RockOnMrs · 07/08/2011 16:11

I've been reading the Wallander series on my Kindle, and Caitlin Moran's How To Be A Woman (v.good). I have downloaded some free Arthur Conan Doyle, Jane Austen & Mark Twain.

I have some David Baldacci, Stephen Fry and the Bible on there as well - I like variety!

I did subscribe to the Times Kindle edition, but have stopped that in light of the hacking revelations.

TarquinGyrfalcon · 07/08/2011 16:13

Just finished The Millennium Trilogy

JiltedJohnsJulie · 07/08/2011 20:29

Downloaded this free one last night although I haven't started it yet.

Rockon how have you found the Wallander book? I've watched most of the tv adaptations but have only read Faceless Killers yet. Found it gripping but more dark than the tv series and I hadn't even thought that possible Smile

SGertie · 07/08/2011 20:42

I'm reading The Girl Who Played With Fire, sorry not a freebie.
Did you know you can buy a CD from eBay with 500 books on for under a fiver?

PositiveAttitude · 07/08/2011 20:51

I am plodding my way through the never-ending reading "Under the dome" by Stephen King. Rather long. it takes loads of page turning to make the % go up just one number!!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 07/08/2011 21:04

SGertie are those CDs any good?

simpson · 07/08/2011 22:00

Thanks for some good ideas Smile

ATM I am struggling plodding through War & Peace but want something a bit easier Blush

Scootergrrrl - Rosemary's baby sounds good, I read it yonks ago, would not mind reading it again.

I also read William Walkers's first yr of marriage which was pretty funny Grin

On the whole I like thriller/mystery type books....

Have you looked on this thread

JiltedJohnsJulie · 08/08/2011 07:34

I've read it Shoshe but think I'm being a bit thick as I can't understand what my free email address is.

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 08/08/2011 07:41

I have just finished Michael McIntyres Auto, v funny. Have downloaded some books for holidays all around 99p.

I have started and am struggling with Caitlin Morans How to be a Woman. Dont think I am in the right frame of mind at the mo.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/08/2011 10:55

The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. You can get a different version that is optimized for Kindle but that is a while 86p Grin

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 13/08/2011 11:00

Just finished 'You've gone too far this time, sir!'. Contained every 'priviliged traveller discovers spiritual India' cliche going. Now reading 'Holes', and enjoying it at the moment.

CrystalQueen · 13/08/2011 11:03

I'm on the fourth book in the "Game of Thrones" series. Definitely NOT free but very good if you like that sort of thing. I started reading it because I'd seen it on telly (and I only watched it because of Sean Bean Blush).

LetThereBeRock · 20/08/2011 16:07

The Man Who Mistook His Wife for A Hat.

I've just finished reading The Woman In Black.

BenHer · 21/08/2011 14:29

I'm new to kindle having recently downloaded the app to my phone.

I read White Fang(last read at school many years ago)which I thoroughly enjoyed.I am now midway through Tess of the D'Urbervelles and absolutely loving the thought provoking magic woven by Hardy with the written word.

Delighted these classics are free on Amazon otherwise I would never have had cause to revist this brilliant vein of classic literature.

ComeWhineWithMe · 21/08/2011 14:34

I'm reading Then, it's not free but is very very good.

Lilymaid · 21/08/2011 14:38

Caitlin Moran How to be a Woman. Cheaper on Kindle than in paperback!

DoubleNegativePanda · 21/08/2011 14:50

I'm rereading King's Property by Morgan Howell. It's the first of the Queen of the Orcs series. Despite the use of the name "Orcs" it has nothing to do with LOTR.

elkiedee · 23/08/2011 14:48

I'm reading a historical novel aimed at teenagers called The Remarkable Life and Times of Eliza Rose by Mary Hooper - several of hers were available for between £1.71 and £2.50.

JamInMyWellies · 23/08/2011 14:57

Caitlin Morans how to be a Woman. Recently finished The Midwives Confession and The Summer in Ischia, both pretty good. My DH is reading all the Sherlock Holmes books (free)

Cherrypi · 23/08/2011 20:38

I'm reading Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch which is enjoyable but a bit stilted in places. I'm also reading lots of free samples.
