Bet that was an interesting display Haunty, which other books were on it?

I'm currently reading Tiger Hills which I'm really enjoying.

Will have a look at diary of a nobody and the Salt Publishing ones, thank you.

Just started to read Dust (currently Free). With luck I will get some Amazon vouchers for Xmas so I can buy some more books.

I recently read The Slap, and quickly followed it with Room, by Emma Donoghue. I think with the launch of the new Kindle model they should have another sale!

I'm really dithering over my next choice, and keep on starting Euro-crime titles; The Dogs of Rome, The Inspector & Silence but not really being in the mood them, or feeling overwhelmed by whoppersclassics like Anna Karenina

noyouhavehadawee · 08/11/2011 20:22

i have just finished reading little women - it was free and i did not really think it would be my bag but it was truly fabulous - i proper sobbed at one point and then again at the end - lovely.

PoodleShyt · 13/01/2012 21:35

I have just finished reading A GPs Confessions which was quite a good read, I like "confession" books and have read a few on my Kindle since getting it for christmas, including "Baby X" - confessions of a child protection officer and "In Stitches" - confessions of an A&E doctor, which is good but there is alot of NHS statistics and the like in it which can be tedious reading.

I'm currently reading "My Sisters Gift". I'm switching between that and the Mumsnet rules in which I found the poem "Farewell Fat Pig, You pushed your luck, you ate too much, now off you fuck..." I've been saying it ever since, even my son has been saying it minus the "fuck" and replacing it with an "f" as it in his words "an adults word only".

I read "Nothing to Envy" about North Korea which was recommended on here. In intersperse that with trashy chicklit, good chicklit, classics and atm I am reading an autobiography of a slave girl from the 1800s in southern USA.

A feast for crows (book 4 of Songs of Ice and Fire)

Have also just finished reading In Stitches and Down Among the Dead.

mummy1973 · 30/01/2012 15:17

I'm reading with my daughter who is 7 - Danny Diamond
I love reading with her. She reads many paper books but has just discovered the Kindle and is at the stage where she doesn't need pictures.

mummy1973 · 30/01/2012 15:19

Oh, the Kindle rainy day reads seems to have gone.

RainbowBlue · 17/02/2012 13:36

Downloaded PS I Love You by Cecilia Ahern as it was on the deal of the day - what a pile of shite, that's what I get for trying to read something different Envy

Now abt to start Death Comes To Pemberley by P.D James the blurb says it's a murder mystery abt who kills Wickham, as an Austrn fan i have high hopesSmile

badtasteflump · 17/02/2012 19:05

Just finished The Great Coat by Helen Dunmore - I couldn't put it down, was the best book I've 'Kindled' so far Smile

Dunlurking · 18/02/2012 22:50

RainbowBlue can I recommend Murder at Mansfield Park by Lynn Shepherd? Generally agreed to be better even than Death Comes to Pemberley. I've just downloaded and started Tom-All-Alone's by the same author.

OneLieIn · 18/02/2012 23:18

world war z - scary and ridiculous at the same time

Sonji · 20/02/2012 21:18

Just finished reading Breaking the Silence by Diane Chamberlain. IMO it was a fantastic book. Definitely recommend it Smile

Truffkin · 20/02/2012 22:35

I've recently finished 'The Midwife's Confession' which I enjoyed, although I found it a bit tear-jerking as a new mother!

Have downloaded 'Before I go to Sleep' but am reading 'Me Before You' first, as recommended by my MiL. We have very similar taste in novels.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 21/02/2012 20:10

How are you finding Me Before You Truffkin? I read it at the beginning of the month and loved it.

RainbowBlue · 23/02/2012 17:44

Truffkin · 25/02/2012 11:50

I finished it yesterday Jilted and really enjoyed it. I'm starting 'Before I go to Sleep' now but have heard really mixed reviews so will see how it goes.
