aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrghhhhhhhh

and what pisses me off the most is that apparently, some people were buying them in bulk to sell on on ebay as they thought they would run out of stock ggggggggrrrrrrrrr

well I hate to say it, but I finally have one (from Hamleys on Regent Street!).

As I said somewhere on this thread, argos are definitely due a big delivery in the next week or so. Hopefully this is a temporary blip and there will be loads flooding the market soon.

I ordered one from Hamleys online this morning aswell so if that arrives, I'll let you guys know and you can have it for what it cost me (if you haven't found one by then).

poppyknot, I have definitely seen the horse around (in the Entertainer).

poppyknot, the actual horse itself is in stock at Argos for home delivery and it's £5 off there.

Was discussing this with essbee today - simply cut the head of a My Little Pony, shove it on a spike and hey presto! A pocket version.

foxinsocks · 29/11/2005 15:28

soupy, you are very naughty

I was a tom boy as a child and could not stand dolls (used to decapitate my sisters' barbies) so I find dd's love of all things pink, purple, barbie and pony incredibly amusing and odd!

oliveoil · 29/11/2005 15:30

dd1 got that head for her birthday last month and it is HIDEOUS, all the hair comes out when you come it and the sticky jewels do not stick.

It is bizarrely addictive however and I plaited the hair the other day and was getting quite bossy as to where to clip things , with dd1 'messing' up my skills.

bundle · 29/11/2005 15:31

true olive, tis vile, it's a lucky close-shave for those of you who can't buy it cos it's sold out..and it's £30 ffs

SoupDragon · 29/11/2005 15:33

I had the misfortune to catch the tail end * of the advert yesterday and had to run from the room in horror. Thank heavens for boys!

(* Ironic really, since it is a decapitated horse's head and has no tail end)

oliveoil · 29/11/2005 15:34

re Argos, you can stick down my local one in Mcr for collection if you want, I work till Thursday and don't mind bobbing in to collect it for anyone - Manchester Arndale 661.

Or I will go into Oldham if I have to - Oldham Town Square 146.

bundle · 29/11/2005 15:35

olive, are you a horse-head pusher now???

Enid · 29/11/2005 15:35

oh come on theres loads of vile crap out there for boys too

I like the horses head its fabulously kitsch

got a friend's 5 yr old girl a My Little Pony on a motorbike, with its very own crash helmet (lilac visor, i think), apples and hairbrush.

foxinsocks · 29/11/2005 15:37

I find boys toys completely uninspirational. Ds is not into fighting toys/superheroes so that rules out so much and all that's left are construction/train/car related stuff.

OP posts:
poppyknot · 29/11/2005 17:04

Out of interest what is the Entertainer?

I feel a bit out of the loop on the toy buying front. This is the first year that DD1 has had the first clue about what she would like.

Argos is resoluting telling me that they are out of stock of the Brietta horses. MAybe it is just not meant to be.

LIZS · 29/11/2005 17:06

The Entertainer is a toy shop which is also on line in a more limited way. They don't open on Sundays if anyone was thinking about popping into one then.

foxinsocks · 29/11/2005 17:13

where are you poppyknot?

when I try and order it on that Argos link (for the whole Brietta horse as opposed to the glam head thing) it is telling me it can deliver it in 2 days time

OP posts:
poppyknot · 29/11/2005 17:17

I am in Scotland - maybe it's a distribution thing??????

How strange!

daisy1999 · 29/11/2005 17:44

Argos told me the whole horse was in stock for delivery, took my whole order including credit card details and at the very end advised it was out of stock and couldn't take the order. AArrgg!
I complained by phone but the girl just said "oh that happened to me once it does that sometime - no stock".

foxinsocks · 29/11/2005 17:46

daisy if you are in London, Hamleys on Regent Street had those in their store as well

OP posts:
pixel · 29/11/2005 18:37

There are loads of these decapitated horses on ebay but you'd have to be desperate and/or rich. They seem to be going for about £50 .

You could probably get a real dead horse for that!

zippimistletoes · 29/11/2005 18:39

perhaps that's why they are easy to get in France

santabops · 30/11/2005 13:02

They had 5 in Woolworths, Hounslow this morning at about 9.30. By 10.00 they were all gone
Thought I would look around shop before picking it up as it is quite large

nailpolish · 30/11/2005 14:40

why are amazon selling at at £69.98?

zippimistletoes · 30/11/2005 14:41

it is an independent seller on Amazon not aamzon itself..i wish they didn't have that system becuase it is confusing i think
