I'm sorry but I have to rant about the lack of MITTENS in the shops

They all have gloves or these stupid steptoe fingerless ones with mitten bits over the top.

It takes bloody hours to get finger gloves on a small child! I WANT SOME MITTENS. And I don't want to pay £25 for a pair from Brora, I want cheapo mittens so it doesn't matter when she loses them

Can anyone find me some?

Sweet cable knit ones here from m&s, only £5

LIZS · 16/11/2005 14:28

CD sympathies. Our school shop only do fingered gloves for aged 2 - 4 , how daft is that when they have a full class to help get their fingers in but they won't even insist they change into wellies when it's wet because it is too much hassle - aargh ! Baby Gap used to do fleecy mitts and Debenhams.

NomDePlume · 16/11/2005 14:28

actually those m&s ones look too big, they start at a 6

spagblog · 16/11/2005 14:29

79p in Lidl and they're knitted or fleece

I got my ds some in Primark - but will he wear them - no!! Last year I put socks on his hands and pulled them up to his elbows but he was only just about to turn 1, can't see that happening this year, especially with his set of lungs!

NomDePlume · 16/11/2005 14:36

CD, those polartec ones look bang on !

Lucycat · 16/11/2005 14:37

sew some cord onto them a la 1973, thread it through his coat but make it quite short so it's difficult to pull them off - he will end up with his arms sticking straight out but hey his hands will be warm!
