I am absolutely in pieces, I’ve just found out my partner of 10 years has recently slept with an escort. How on earth do people cope with this level of betrayal. I feel absolutely sick to my stomach

That’s awful OP. Not only has your partner cheated, but you now know they are the sort of person who thinks it’s ok to buy someone’s body for sex. Do you have family and friends to support you?

I can’t bare the thought of telling my family, I’m just avoiding everyone and saying I’m ill atm. We’ve literally just bought our first house together too, in March. What on earth am I supposed to do. I have spoken to a close friend but she’s as shocked as I am.

If you post on the relationship board, you will probably get more replies and support. The sex board is generally just men looking for wank fodder.

In what circumstances did you find out? How have the conversations about it gone?

there was an escort post on here recently which had man after man claiming this is normal behaviour. Lots are very defensive about it. I think you’d get a lot more support from the women on that board. Unfortunately there are some really creepy men on here.

Cheating is the lowest form of behaviour, I could never accept it, but the thought of leaving having just bought your first house is
quite horrendous.

Take time though, maybe talk to him when this initial shock subsides - if he has had sex with a hooker, he’s probably done it before and would be likely to do it again.

There are many strange beings who come and go (quite swiftly) on here. I'm not sure why certain blokes get a kick out of posting weird made up shit but such is life. Generally I think the guys who stick around for the long haul are fairly normal people.

I consider myself a lurker (I haven't been living up to that recently) and yes, I'm just here for thrills. So guess I fit into the 'not normal' category.

So, as a 'not normal' guy, personally, I think getting off on what real women say/think about sex is way less weird than many other outlets.

You started one up the hook up threads. People, mainly men, posted saying stuff like ‘married but not getting much at home’ and ‘if I take a while to respond to PMs, it’s because my wife is around’. When challenged, you stuck up for these people, mainly men, yet you also claimed to be a decent bloke. Decent men wouldn’t behave that way.

I’m not sure about that. A lot of the regulars seemed to name change after the whole hook up threads debacle. A lot of the men posting on that thread had been here for a long time and had questionable posting history. One even justified oral rape of a woman. I know one that met up with a woman from another board and he was definitely not normal. Many men who are regulars have sent unwanted creepy PMs before mumsnet cracked down more on it. When some of the posters here moved over to Reddit, you could see what other things they posted on Reddit, a couple of the regular male posters here had an interest in rape fetish, teen fetish and some even worse things which I won’t even type. These were men who said they were in their 50s. Fairly normal….no. Pervs here for the wrong reasons, yes.

I did not start any of the alleged "hook-up" threads. The old sex chat threads - to which you are presumably referring - were never used by me to hook up (or attempt to hook up) with anyone. And neither did I defend individuals openly cheating on their partners in the way you have suggested. Please get your facts right in future.

You started the second or third one. The screen shots are still on other sites, as is evidence of you defending them. You said that it’s up to other people if they cheats as they are adults and the thread monitors should stop interfering. Your words.
