Ive always masturbated fairly regularly maybe a few times a week and no issues, I find it helps me last longer when having sex, helps with stress etc. always private when nobody is home.
Wife can sometimes get annoyed because if she wants a ‘quickie’ it might take 15-20minutes of sex to cum which I don’t see as an issue but she says she prefers a couple minutes and it’s done.
Keen to get other peoples opinions on this?

Agree that you need compromise. Maybe masturbate on the days that you're not going to have sex. Personally I don't like intercourse lasting ages. 20 mins of straight up piv would leave me feeling sore.

Thanks for the comments and always open to compromise, It might be once or twice a week I masturbate and now it’s normally if I don’t think we will have sex during that week and having children we will normally try and fit it in when we are working from home and the kids are at school. Night time is typically off the cards now as we have an older teenager who is well aware of what goes on and last thing we want is the teenager hearing us as our rooms are opposite.

For me, its probably around 2-5 times a week depending on what is going on and if my husband is at home or travelling for work. Personally I like to use my vibrator and I normally do it when he isn't around.

My husband was doing it daily when he was younger and for quite a while when we got together and since then he said its usually been about 3 times a week.

I think this sounds like a much bigger issue than how much you masturbate. It sounds like the age old issue of mismatched sex drives which has been discussed several times on here.

There are many different reasons given, for the reason of a loss of sex drive in either sex, but the usual final response is usually along the lines of

"You need to have a proper conversation about and come to a compromise. If not, it is perfectly acceptable to end a marriage over lack of sex". This is very obviously much, much easier said than done, but ultimately it sounds like you cannot go on like this and need to resolve it one way or another.

A compromise would be trying to agree roughly when sex will happen and holding off all week until it does. Can make it much more enjoyable when you do have sex too

In my opinion, it's very important for my body to feel pleasure and feel happy and strong. So with me, it is when I wake up, sometimes again before I get up, and before I go to sleep. Depending on how I am feeling/who I am talking to, may also have to relax myself some time during the day as well.

I have always been like this. It feels healthy and good. My cheeks are always rosy.

In a very long relationship, we would have sex usually first thing, probably at least 5 days a week, and if not I would just as usual pleasure myself next to him. Then we would have sex probably once during the day. Maybe late morning/lunchtime. Then in the evening but if tired not, but sometimes wake up and during the night.

It varies but I'd probably say 5 or 6 times a week. I like to do it at night mostly.

F, 40 something, and usually once or twice a day. That’s in addition to 1:1 sex, possibly about 3 times per week, usually weekends and rarely in the week; l often get too tired on work days.

The needs for both are quite different. “Me Time” is stimulating but at the same time calming and relaxing. 1:1 sex requires passion and effort.
