Surprisingly, acquaintances, sometimes friends seem to often pop up on these threads. My personal experience (M) is that a connection is important and so is respect for personal social space. I would never embarrass "friends" in public and have been invited back once or twice a year....don't rush into anything, and talk, talk, talk with your partner.

again, social media is rubbish for this - my fave is to agree with my partner we will find someone on hols - even if you're not successful, the sex will be dynamite and its a lot of fun looking!

My advice would be to look to try it on holiday. It will make the separation easier that doing it with someone you know and if it doesn't go to plan having to still see that person.
Myself and my OH tried it on holiday a few years ago and worked well. It was a one off experience, and because it was holiday easy to move on after and put it down to a fun experience but nothing more.

This is exactly what we do and it has worked a number of times for us. Always through Fabswingers.

Even another city in the UK and make a weekend of it makes it much easier than someone you might bump into at Tesco

That is exactly what I thought. To enjoy and let go it could not be someone I may bump into shopping. For us foreign country and holiday was the best option. Although suppose that could get expensive if you want to do it a lot!
