No condoms

I had expierence with a guy this weekend

I went to his (he stays around the corner) and we drunk wine etc - all went well. I said I can walk home (its literally meters away from mines) but he insisted I stayed.

I was quite happy to go along with it as I really fancied him and wanted to have sex.

Anyway - things got fairly steamy and I asked him if he had any condoms - I said I was not on contraception. He said I forgot them and I do not have any. We did not have sex.

I have never in my life been invited to a heteronormative mans flat who has not had condoms. 😂
I am going to start carrying them around incase this happens to me again - I had never thought of it before.

I think both are responsible for safe sex, when I was younger and care-free, I carried a condom in my bag.

I am going to start. I have never been caught out like that.

My sex drive has dramatically increased in my 30s.

Good idea! Then if you’re caught in the moment, you are fully prepared. Is sex on the cards with this guy again?

I agree with both points POV, I think it’s a bit unusual for a single guy not to have any, but then if you expect to be having sex, it’s not unreasonable for you provide one (or two maybe 😊)

SirGawain · 23/05/2022 19:07

heteronormative. I thought I was fairly articulate but this is a new one on me. If you mean sexually active with women why don't you just say so?

Annwen · 24/05/2022 13:07

In my dating days, I always had at least a couple of condoms with me. Almost all of the guys I had sex with had their own but there were a few exceptions, or guys who tried to get to do it without. But bringing condoms with me meant I never had to risk unsafe sex or not have sex at all when I wanted it.

It was rare the guys didn’t have a condom, it was more a case of, if anything happens, at least I know I have one. Nothing worse than being horny and realising you can’t act on that 🙂

If I'd had wine and was horny, I'd have struggled to not say "oh, just this once". I know how my filters fail with alcohol.

Much admiration for you OP. And I hope you and the guy get together again soon. With protection.

balalake · 26/05/2022 19:27

I am glad you did not seem to be pressurised by him into having sex unprotected. Good luck in the future.

StarlightLady · 28/05/2022 07:06

OP, l’m pleased you took the sensible approach. I’ve been called names before for carrying condoms in my handbag.

Ironically, l have also had a friend ask to “borrow” one in a situation similar to the OP.

Annwen · 28/05/2022 07:41

@StarlightLady I used to be the one that my friends would come to if they needed one as well! Most of them were too shy to carry them themselves but they sure appreciated it in their hour of need that I had no qualms at all about having a supply Smile
