How many sexual partners have you had?

Was just thinking about past sexual partners/encounters and wondering what the average number is. I've just totted it up and I've slept with 20 men. It sounds quite a lot but not sure if it's more or less than average. How many people have you slept with? (I'm 40 btw, and with same partner for last 12 years).

17, 11 before my 30 year marriage (inc XH) and 6 since. Sex in the last two years has been soooo much better than before. Not being able to get pregnant -I’m 57 - is the best thing ever, and post menopause I’m horny as fuck. I shagged my boyfriend of 17 months 10 times in four days this week! I shouldn’t count, it’s juvenile, but I’m just so amazed at this new lease of life for me and can’t tell anyone IRL 🥳

Before I was married, 18 was the number of different partners, the most fun was between the ages of 24 and 28. I am late middle aged now and I still dream about the great times! I am very happily married and have been for many years.

Everyone is different of course but the mistake I made in marrying my XH was that I knew he’d only slept with one other woman and I always felt uncomfortable about it. He’d never sowed wild oats (same religious upbringing as mine, he took it seriously though 😂) so I think he never felt adult and ready for the trials our marriage faced. I tell my DDs to watch out for this in their partners. We all need a disreputable youth in my opinion.

Years ago, I think 50th anniversary of James Bond movies I read an item on the BBC website comparing James Bond’s sex life with the average UK bloke and the said the average for UK blokes was 9 and a half.

More recently I read an article which said the average claimed by UK blokes is 20 but in reality is 15, while Ms UK will claim 10 but in reality is also 15.

I probably had 9.5 before I married the first time; as for my 9 years single between wives ....

I'm 41, ended abusive marriage at 33 and just having lots of fun since.

I am 51 and they have all been in relationships. I have never had a one night stand, I just couldn't do it. Fine for other people if thats their thing but its not for me.

@StarlightLady Ah but it would be boring if we were all the same, I personally wouldn’t have sex with someone until I have known them 3/4 months and spent quite a bit of time together in those months. Both of the partners I have had are usually first night kind of guys, poor sods 😂

@SimonJT that is probably a really good filter you have going there. Anyone who is willing to overlook sex for 3/4 months must really, really like you.
Question: when you have eventually done it, have you been sexually compatible? Can I ask that?!?! It's a bit personal.
For full disclosure I've never once waited but have had relationships with people on the whole spectrum of sexual and emotional compatability. Mostly... not, in the long run.

32. I’m 31.

Over 20 of them were before the age of 19.

Waiting as long as 3 months before having sex with someone would be of no benefit to me. I have needs.

Somewhere in the 60s. I'm 35 and had a blast in my 20s.
