I suspect one has to be careful with such devices especially if it is made of a solid material i.e metal. Overuse could cut off the blood supply/affect circulation and in extreme cases, prevent removal possibly needing some careful use of a mini hacksaw/scissors or a trip to A&E or the fire station !
