Porny Expectations - do you find men's attitudes have changed?

I watch a fair bit of porn, although I'm more into the naturalistic stuff. No bouncy ball tits, fake nails, that sort of thing. I like hair. Proper orgasms. Anyway...

What I wanted to discuss was whether the unrealistic nature of much mainstream porn has affected how men respond and react in sexual situations. I don't have a lot of sex these days (old) but the last time I did, I really noticed a very porny style to the guy's behaviour. As if he'd watched a lot and thought it was normal.

Things that see to be considered "normal" in a lot of mainstream porn:

  1. An expectation of no body hair at all.
  2. An expectation of effortless female orgasm.
  3. Along with that orgasm, gushing lots of "cum" (pee?)
  4. Easy and expected anal.
  5. Expected "gagging" oral.

Have you also found these things creeping in to real sex?

Lois i agree I sometimes wonder of the Pill was actually developed so that men could have sex without consequences.

You only have to watch the old sitcoms which itv3 often shows (On the Buses Doctor at Large ) to see the way women who took the Pill were talked about. The misogyny is really jarring. Although i do realise it was only available to married women to start with. Because they thought it would cause women to be "promiscuous" The Madonna/whore type thinking is still there unfortunately. Ive heard the very same arguments used now.....50 years later about the MAP.

LoisPuddingLane · 08/07/2015 23:01

Oh yes, in On the Buses, every "dolly bird" that joined the bus company was supposedly up for it with Stan and Jack (vomits), and were right little goers, or ravers. But they were not the kind of girl one married.

I always hated the assumption by men that I was on the pill. As if we were all supposed to be, and why wasn't I? As if fertility and prevention was all down to the woman. Sigh. Yes, I wonder if the pill was developed so that men could have responsibility-free sex, too.

YY And Arthur was an abusive husband to Olive yet people thought that was funny.

LoisPuddingLane · 10/07/2015 07:49

He was! He was vile to her.

Lois - It wasn't real Smile

LoisPuddingLane · 10/07/2015 09:39

Oh gosh, thanks for telling me.

It reflected what was real in society though. My sister in law at the time had the very bad fortune to be a dead ringer for Olive. You can imagine how she was laughed at within my (highly dysfunctional) family.

Society is a big thing Lois.

I actually believe it reflected what a very small section of middle class SE England thought the "masses" wanted to see (just like Love Thy Neighbour). I think/hope the truth is, the masses are/were more sophisticated than the TV programs reflect.
