Do you find the smell of your other halves sweat attractive?

I can remember watching Topgun as a young teen, and finding Tom Cruise really sexy, except the bit where he's in the lift all sweaty. I remember thinking ewww he must smell gross. I always thought being sweaty was a turn off until I met dp.

Was lying in bed with him the other day, he was shirtless and sweaty from going for a run with the dog just before he came up for a lie down. He smelt really manly and sexy. It then occured to me that he's the only man who I find it a turn on when he's sweaty, or who I have had really sweaty sex with and not felt a bit ick about it.

Is this something to do with pheramones? Do you find the smell of your other halves sweat attractive? I mean fresh sweat btw, not a weeks worth of BO from not showering. Or is it just me? Or does anyone feel the opposite and find it a turn off?

Yuck. Total turn off!

UnbelievableBollocks · 08/06/2015 21:41

No.
Ugh.

susiedaisy · 08/06/2015 21:42

Fresh sweat yes. Old sweat no.

ShatnersBassoon · 08/06/2015 21:42

Yes, fresh sweat is quite arousing. Armpits though, not feet or nutsack.

Penfold007 · 08/06/2015 21:43

No

colouringinagain · 08/06/2015 21:44

Fresh yes, like when he's been working hard outside or is just back from the gym. Have never liked the smell of anyone else, but the smell of dh is just yummy.

Purpleflamingos · 08/06/2015 21:54

Fresh sweat, um, yes. (deletes rest of reply)

Hassled · 08/06/2015 21:55

No, not at all. It still smells like sweat.

grumpasaur · 08/06/2015 22:37

Yes, I do. Apparently one of the predictors of being married 35+ years is like the person's smell. The second predictor is whether they make you laugh. Funny, isn't it?

scarletforya · 08/06/2015 22:44

Yes. He's very clean though so i only catch a hint at the end of the day.

Fresh sweat is ok, old stale sweat not so good...

CandyAppleFudge · 09/06/2015 00:05

No, even before I was pregnant it wasn't.

Mrsfrumble · 09/06/2015 00:12

Armpits, yes. Feet, no.

TheScreamingfrog · 09/06/2015 08:36

Towards the end of my marriage, I found the smell of H totally repulsive. Now, if I meet a prospective partner I have a surreptitious sniff. It can be a major turn on or off for me

everyonefednobodydead · 09/06/2015 11:38

TheScreamingfrog that is very interesting! As I used to like the smell of DHs sweat, now I just think ugh go away you stink! Shock we have been together a reeeeeally long time tho and I don't generally find him as attractive as I used to...

I have an acute sense of smell (think I was a sniffer dog in a previous life, or training to be one in my next life) Grin. I don't like really fresh sweat, a couple of hours old is perfect. I can tell whether I find someone attractive by the way they smell, and I don't mean aftershave or perfumes. Just on the wrong person it smells like onions/pasties, on the right person it smells manly. I even like the smell of my own sweat!

notthestereotype · 09/06/2015 12:20

Well my dp is a woman, so I don't have to debate this, as of course, ladies don't perspire. We naturally smell of flowers and all things lovely Wink Grin

HellKitty · 09/06/2015 12:22

DP sweats like a pig but has the genetic mutation meaning he doesn't smell. But sometimes he does have the slightest armpit whiff and I love it. Weirdly he loves my natural scent, he hates it if I've had a bath or shower just before bed, makes me quite paranoid Shock

hoobygalooby · 09/06/2015 12:26

Oh I do. DP always wears aftershave/deodorant but I always think he smells best when he gets in from work and needs a shower!!!
And when he wakes up in the morning his chest smells lush!!

LuluJakey1 · 09/06/2015 19:52

I like DH's smell but not old sweat. I hate feet- anyone's.

Methe · 09/06/2015 19:54

Yes I like a man that smells like a man.
