Ours were submitted on results day. Heard nothing yet but I know some people have. Waiting on CIE and AQA.

AQA English still not back - think we’re on day 19 now - not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing

We finally heard back from CIE for History and we got the upgrade!! Don’t know how many extra marks yet (DS will ask Monday) but a grade change with this exam board is subject to a tolerance so you need more than just 1 or 2 marks added for your grade to change (which feels unfair) but it suggests we got a few extra which is great!

So pleased for you, that's something at last hurrah!

SlipperyLizard · 24/09/2026 10:34

We’re still waiting for AQA Eng Lang - don’t know exactly when school submitted it, but it is 16 days since we paid so hopefully won’t be too much longer.

KwellsBells · 24/09/2026 12:38

AQA has a standard turnaround time of 20 calendar days, so hopefully those still waiting (including us but only day 9 here) will hear soon.

It's neither. It's just a thing.

We're on day 21 with AQA English Language...

AQA English Literature came back with 12 extra marks on one paper and none on the other. He's gone up a grade, which is good, but I don't feel like they have properly re-marked the other paper (or even looked at it). There is now a huge discrepancy between the papers (which there isn't according to DS and the teachers at his school). It took 18 days for them to come back.

We just got AQA English Lan Paper 2 back and it's gone up 4 marks so has taken her from a 6 to a 7 which she'll be very happy with. We sent Paper 1 first and that didn't change. She was 1 mark off the grade boundary so thought it was worth sending the second too.

Just a word on AI. I sent the first paper just after results day and there was no-one at school to review. After I sent it, I did put them both through AI and Chat GPT identified 1-2 potential marks on Paper 1 , but also said the marking was fair, and 4-6 marks on paper 2 where it said there was a much stronger chance for an upgrade. So though I wouldn't rely on AI, it did identify which paper was more likely to go up.

@Stowickthevastcongrats, that’s a great result.

also waiting for AQA English Lang paper 2 here. Can I ask what date yours was sent off? We’re still within their 20 calendar day turnaround time but just wondering when we might expect it.

teacher thinks there is a good chance of some additional marks, but AI tells me otherwise, so who knows 😂

We got our final re-mark back today, AQA biology. Needed 4 marks for a 9, and got them. So in total, we went for 4 re-marks, chemistry (1 mark), computer sciences (2 marks), biology (4 marks) and physics (5 marks). 3 of the 4 went up (all from 8 to 9), only one that didn’t was physics.
Very happy with that result. Just wish they had been marked properly the first time. However, my son has terrible hand writing and I do think some of the missed marks were due to the examiner not being able to read the script properly, so he can take some accountability there.

SlipperyLizard · 28/09/2026 13:51

We just got our AQA Eng Lang result back - no change, which is disappointing given the teacher’s comments about a question being harshly marked, but I’d rather pay and know than have DD wonder.

That’s a shame @SlipperyLizard. May I ask which paper/question it was?

it’s one specific question dd’s teacher thinks has been harshly marked

Stowickthevast · 28/09/2026 13:58

Wow @Smokingtoaster that's amazing, well done.

@SlipperyLizard good to have tried.

@KwellsBells I'm not entirely sure. I requested it on 11 September but then had to go into school to pay for it on 15 September as DD has left and they couldn't process payments remotely. So I think it wasn't sent until the 15th, so just under 2 weeks.

SlipperyLizard · 28/09/2026 14:04

@KwellsBells it was paper 1, question 5, she got 28/40 but he thought it was worth more (she was only 2 marks off a 9 and had consistently got 9s in mocks etc).

It’s so weird isn’t it. Worth a try though - marking does seem all over the shop this year.

Thanks, we’ll be two weeks tomorrow.

DD is actually pretty happy with her current grade but the teacher was keen for a remark, so if she did happen to get an upgrade it would just be a nice bonus.

Oh gosh! It’s so weird, their response time seems
as variable as their marking ability 😂

I think we're on day 26 waiting for AQA English Language!

Oh that’s disappointing @Pootles34! Always worth a shot though - and you’d always be wondering ‘what if’ if you hadn’t submitted for review. How many days did that take to come back?

It definitely could go either way for DD. She needs 3 extra marks but only one paper sent for review. And, realistically, it’s resting on one question (16 marker) that her teacher thought had been harshly marked. Not getting our hopes up, it makes no difference to DD really but I’d be so delighted for her if it did go up as it would be to a grade she never thought in her wildest dreams she would achieve.

Pootles34 · 29/09/2026 16:39

Yes you're right, definitely glad we did, especially as it was a 3, one mark off a 4.

Fingers crossed for your DD, especially as the teacher thinks it's harshly marked.

Oh no @Pootles34 that's a real shame. One mark off a 4 I think pretty much anyone would ask for a review.

Hopefully she can nail it with her retake.

Pootles34 · 29/09/2026 16:45

12 days for us.
