Ours were submitted on results day. Heard nothing yet but I know some people have. Waiting on CIE and AQA.

Yes - email the exam officer and they should be able to give you copies of the script - they have access and can download them immediately. So did you submit for review before seeing the scripts? How did you decide which papers to submit (or did you just submit all of them?)

The school funded reviews of any grade within 4 marks of the boundaries

they emailed and asked if we gave permission

How long have edexcel been taking? We sent it off on 9th September. All the others we’ve done have been AQA and turned around within a week.

Our edexcel was back in 3 days!

Day 17 waiting for English Language AQA. I'm wondering whether the examiners have more time over the weekend to do the remarks and we'll get the results back today or tomorrow? The wait is painful as it's dragging on and it would be nice to close this one way or another!

We've been speaking to the science teacher about AQA trilogy science - 3 marks from the grade boundary. We're still debating what to do. There's no obvious errors but a few potential judgement marks - no more than 1 or 2 per paper which could go either way. It's nearly £300 to get all 6 papers remarked.

The science teacher said they've submitted 12 for review so far (I think they are more likely the single science rather than combined), but all have come back unchanged.

FoxandDuck · 21/09/2026 10:21

We’re day 17 too @cherrywhite. All of the other AQA English language remarks which were submitted at the same time as DD’s or up to a week later have come back so it’s a bit odd. Most have stayed the same but half a dozen have gone up by a couple of marks, one by 6 marks and one by 12. None have gone down. Of course, we’re now worrying that DD’s will go down!
Her school continue to be helpful as, whilst the internal deadline for submitting a remark is today, the exams officer is basically holding DD’s request for the other paper until the last possible moment knowing that we should get this one back first.

AQA citizenship back today - 2 marks found so she got over the boundary (day 13)

Still waiting on Pearson maths and AQA English language (both day 13 and counting)

Smokingtoaster · 21/09/2026 12:10

We had AQA physics back with no change in grade. It was 5 marks below the grade boundary so was always a bit of a stretch. Just waiting for Biology now. Even if that comes back the same we will still have beaten the odds with Chemistry and Comp Sci having already gone up.

GiveMearoomwithaview · 21/09/2026 12:21

Maths now back (day 13) - found an additional 2 marks but needed 2 more to get over the line - grade unchanged

makemineadecaf · 21/09/2026 12:34

Day 13 still waiting for edexcel. I’m worried though because we’ve already had 3 upgrades so our luck is bound to have run out!

makemineadecaf · 22/09/2026 11:09

It’s back and up to an 8! We’ve been incredibly lucky that 4/4 subjects for remark have all been upgraded.

Good luck to anyone else still waiting.

Day 18 of AQA Eng Lang and DD has finally heard. She’s gone up 6 marks and so now has a 6. This is crucial for her as it unlocks some Uni courses. Now that she is in the middle of a grade boundary after the review of just one paper, the dilemma is whether to get the other one reviewed too in case she can squeeze it up to a 7. My gut feel is that we stick where we are. After all, it would be silly to risk dropping back down!
I am so annoyed with the process. DD got two subjects reviewed and went up a grade in both. Her results now feel much more representative of her as an individual and she would have been delighted had she received these grades on results day rather than being a bit deflated. And then there are so
many who, for a whole range of reasons, won’t have been able to go through this review process.

ifonlytheydlisten · 22/09/2026 20:39

I’m having a running with school
as turned out they hadn’t sent our Eng off. And no feedback from teacher review yet. They promised me and yet seemingly haven’t actioned it

Oh no! The boards deadline is tomorrow!!

ifonlytheydlisten · 22/09/2026 23:03

@makemineadecaf they have said Thursday but I’m fuming. They told me it was being done. I need to know whether to book and pay for a resit in Nov to get grade needed for uni course

Ah yes, 24th for all boards. I imagine by 5pm.

I hope you can get hold of the exams officer first thing. What subject is it? Is it an essential grade move for university?

ifonlytheydlisten · 23/09/2026 07:21

@makemineadecafit was the exam officer I’d been emailing then he called me. Except he now seems to not recall that and what he said. I don’t know how crucial grade is as too early to know what course she’ll finally want but she’d need it for a lot

AQA English Lit paper 1 back in 3 working days this week. Went up 18 marks and a grade (almost 2).

cherrywhite · 23/09/2026 09:54

Day 19 and we got English Language back this morning. No change to the marks, stayed at a 4 (which we'd expected but we wanted to explore before deciding what to do next). We're very glad it didn't go down as I was starting to panic!

The exams officer told DD that none of the (30+) reviews that had been submitted for English Lang had resulted in a grade change so far. The Head of English is fuming and genuinely questioning what's going on at AQA this year.

In hindsight, it might be a blessing that she didn't get the upgrade to a 5. I think we'd have just accepted that. She's keen to resit and aim for the 6 that she was predicted.

Congratulations to those who have received good news!

Verite1 · 23/09/2026 20:14

It’s very interesting about AQA English language. DS was predicted an 8 and got a 6. We didn’t go for remark though as he knows he messed up one of the papers (timing issues), he only just scraped a 6 and we didn’t want to risk a 5. We requested economics and Spanish remark. Went up a grade in Economics (only needed 2 extra marks but got 4). Still waiting for Spanish but that is more of a long shot.

sanityisamyth · 23/09/2026 20:17

CIE take weeks. They’re an awful exam board.

What papers did you submit for the Spanish? Did you have a teacher look at it? I do think it is worth a double check on MFL this year as GCSE (not IGCSE) is a new spec and there could be issues around that in terms of marking (tho of course there should not be).

Some of the posts on here are shocking! I mean I realise that many more YP will not see a change on review, as some posts have noted and most ppl are not going to come on to a thread shouting loudly about their DC's grade staying the same, so that will skew the perception of changes; but still it's poor that some papers have had such a big change of multiple marks (as in, it's poor that the marking was not better in the first place!). A lot of them seem to be English which i gather has had issues with markers this year? I know I was getting messages on my social feed from AQA saying "do you want to mark English GCSE this year?" (errrr nope, you don't want me) as late as March or even April which is concerning.

Just writing. My DS teacher said that is the paper which has been most unpredictable with marking.

We only sent off speaking as that was way lower than the other three and her teacher who did the speaking exam felt it was very harshly marked. It went up 6 marks and into a confident grade 8 (only needed one mark).

Stowickthevast · 24/09/2026 09:01

Interesting about writing @Verite1

DD got her 9 in German but the writing was the lowest mark she'd ever got in a German practice paper or mock. She did brilliantly in the other parts though so managed to pull herself up.

We're still waiting for the second English Lan but not hopeful judging from comments on here.
