I woke up at 5:06 and am hoping that's a good omen.

And he went off to bed pissed off last night, as he’s offered to go in, keeping DS relatively calm thus far- externally- , but thought we’d be leaving about 9, but not, 7.40am. It’s his birthday today and that didn’t appeal. But he promised to get up. Arse, I should’ve checked!

Sat having a coffee in the garden (it’s bloody cold!) as I couldn’t sleep. This is the 4th time for me having dc collecting results and it doesn’t get any easier!

dd worked at the pub last night and came home hyper - she was still rattling round the house at 3am.

im allowed to take her to school but have to wait in the car and she says she doesn’t know if she will let me see her results.

I shall be getting her up shortly as we have tb testing on the farm this morning so it’s all hands on deck to get the cows in ready for the vet - hopefully it will keep her busy and stop the anxiety from building, then it’s into school for 9am.

Still awake I’m afraid, and the house is definitely no cleaner than when everyone else went to bed! I’ve been trying to read, but can’t concentrate. I was quite chilled for DD1’s GCSE’s, and even her A Levels, but I think because DD2 has revised so hard I’m worried she’ll be disappointed, even if she gets good grades. Arrrgh, teenagers, who’d have ‘em?!

Awake and fretting here. Good luck everyone for later. Envious of those who can go in at 8, DS has to wait until 9 and there’s a whole palaver of head teacher speech and process of getting the envelope but not opening it until you’re in a certain place….😬😬

@OliveWah.. 😹😹😹😹 to the French!!! My identical twin has lived in Paris for twenty odd years and her face when I tried to order in some chic cafe when DS were 4 and 2 bombing around was priceless! Suffice to say, that was our rotate EVER row! I’m 💯 with your DD on this front!
I totally get what you say, with her having worked so hard. It’s crushing, as parent, when you know they are horribly disappointed. I hope that isn’t the case for her today!! 🍀 🍀🍀🍀💕

I’m nervous too, dd will have done fine I think but she wants to go to a very selective sixth form for which she would need very high grades (that is absolutely on the knife edge, but really it would be for anyone). Probably the back up which she says is fine will be okay though, the worst case scenario would be having to change subjects (which I think would be a bad idea) so she really needs a 7 for maths (which she’s confident about tbf).

I’m not worried about Ds. I’m fairly confident he will get the grades needed for A levels. I know he’s hoping for mostly 9’s I’m not sure about that though. I’m driving him there, he’s meeting his mates at 9am. I will wait in the car, he told me not to wait as he’s going to a mates who lives walking distance, then they are getting a train to the city, they’ve booked the cinema. So hopefully they’ll all have a celebratory day.

I forget to say…i will wait, otherwise he’d leave us waiting all day for the results.

… I know what you mean.. DS18 is Spanish obsessed, and if he’d had to have changed from that, he wouldn’t have cared if he’d got 9’s in everything else. DS16 is totally different, he’s AuDHD, has had a shitty time all thro school with bullying and if he gets his “4 x 4” needed to start his long road “to do something in the law like you”, it’ll be a massive celebration here!

I really hope she storms maths! ( cooks it?! Yep! I’m sure that’s right!!) and gets into the selective place she has set her heart on! 🍀🍀🍀🍀😻

I think it depends what he gets and if any friends about. His results are given by appointment with a teacher or the Head...
