Thanks @QueenMabby for the new thread and good luck to all DCs!

swampwitch0 · 20/08/2025 09:49

Thank you @QueenMabby
Good luck, folks!🍀
Not long now...

swampwitch0 · 20/08/2025 09:50

(It's Whoo here!..)

MrPanks · 20/08/2025 10:32

Thanks for the thread. I’m super anxious as it could go either way for my DD, and she will be in bits if she doesn’t get what she needs to stay at her current school. Still, chin up, tits out, onward…

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 20/08/2025 10:59

Thank you @QueenMabby Not long at all. DD2 torturing herself with the fact her teachers ALREADY KNOW

IThinkImAMathmoMum · 20/08/2025 11:02

@achangeofnameisasgoodasarest most of her teachers won't know until tomorrow, only a very limited set of people get to see them today - that's what my friend who is a teacher told me.

SuperTrooper1111 · 20/08/2025 11:02

Thanks @QueenMabby! I don't think DD has twigged yet that her teachers now know their results. It feels very, very real now.

frozendaisy · 20/08/2025 11:04

Morning
Thanks for new thread marking for countdown.
Still asleep and can stay that way and wake naturally - I'm not going in there not today

MrsHamlet · 20/08/2025 11:07

Only the senior team know now. I'll know when I log on tomorrow - although probably not when I wake up at 4am!

lifeturnsonadime · 20/08/2025 11:13

My DD has already had 2 results, Cambridge IGCSE's which come 2 days before the normal ones. Not good news for her a 3 in Biology and a 3 in Business. She does have sen and these where her 'worst' subjects but this means that she needs all of the GCSEs she collects tomorrow to be at least a grade 4 to gain her college place for a level 3 BTEC. So the pressure is well and truly on.

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow.

katgab · 20/08/2025 11:19

I had a double whammy this year as my eldest collected a level results last week and youngest GCSEs tomorrow. I looked at her 6th form offer letter earlier today to check arrangements to let them know and wish I hadn’t. She needs top grades for her chosen subjects, wish I hadn’t looked. She’s worked hard but it’s still a bit of a lottery. Just feel sick.

icanbewhatiwant · 20/08/2025 11:23

Just marking my place ready.

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 20/08/2025 11:26

@lifeturnsonadime my DD has some CIE IGCSEs too - that's why she knows her teachers already know her grades. Sorry not better news - but at least it sounds like she's got the worst out of the way already. Onwards and upwards for tomorrow

Eccle80 · 20/08/2025 11:34

@lifeturnsonadime I’m sorry the results weren’t what she was hoping for, I hope she gets what she needs tomorrow, or that if it isn’t quite enough the college are flexible

waitingquietly · 20/08/2025 12:07

Thank you - just distracted myself with my first 10k run in years - DS is on the PS5 so suitably distracted too … good luck all

LarkspurLane · 20/08/2025 12:17

I found out on a similar thread last year that sometimes schools call parents/children asking them to come in at 9 ...... if they know they did really well and want them there for photos!
Unlikely to happen in our case, in fact, seeing the school number on my phone always made me feel physically sick - it was never good news!

Is that literally the SLT members or heads of subject departments?

In my school, just SLT, the exams officer and the data manager.

Yodeldodeldo · 20/08/2025 12:31

Just driven past dd school and the car park is very busy for school hols, it'll be the teachers going through the exam results right? Somehow this has made me more anxious knowing her results were merely yards away.

I think I'm going to be prone to melodrama for the next 12 hours

MamaElephantMama · 20/08/2025 12:32

Hello. Joining ready for tomorrow.

DataColour · 20/08/2025 12:35

@LarkspurLane I feel the same way about the school ringing me...it's never good news and I have a DD in the same school too, so at least another year of having to deal with this school.

@lifeturnsonadime hope your DD gets the results she wants tomorrow. Good luck!

Feeling sick on and off now. DS has convinced himself that he's done "really well" and I feel differently and I worry he's going to get a big shock tomorrow. He's decided that he's better off staying on at his school for 6th form now, changed his mind since he got his ADHD assessment as he thinks he needs more of a stricter school environment and college will give him too much freedom which won't be a benefit for him, plus he'll have to take a bus there or cycle on very busy roads. I don't know, it's all up in the air still.

Good luck everyone!

Ugh, I'd hate that. Imagine your DC were expecting top marks and then you get a message from a friend saying they've been called into school early but you haven't! It would be so upsetting.

swampwitch0 · 20/08/2025 12:45

In our school the EO and SLT will know.
HODs and class teachers will find out tomorrow at 8am

SuperTrooper1111 · 20/08/2025 12:46

Just taken the dog for a long walk to clear my head of doubt and to think practically about what steps we need to take if resits are involved. Poor dog's exhausted now but I feel better for it!

MamaElephantMama · 20/08/2025 12:47

Everyone needs to be at school between 9 and 10:30.
