Best of luck, everyone! Our school insists on in person appointments to get results, we won't know until 11am. Started a new job recently and couldn't get the day off so I'll be in a meeting at the time. 😭

SilverSnaffles · 21/08/2025 08:50

@Exhaustedonallfronts thank you. I had heard it’s a bad year for them, but hoped having a dog that prefers human to dog company might help save us. Apparently not! Hmm

Well done @ConBatulations’ dd.

@justteanbiscuits Congratulations on getting everything that he needed. Sorry to hear he’s disappointed with his English Lang, dd will be the same if she doesn’t get some of her predicted grades.

BreakfastClub80 · 21/08/2025 08:50

DD is ecstatic - made her aspirational grades 9x9 and 1x8 (French). I can remember the early years of her school life when she couldn’t read (dyslexic) and worrying about this day but it just goes to show how life isn’t predictable.

Good luck to everyone, I really hope they achieve what they need.

SilverSnaffles · 21/08/2025 08:53

That’s fantastic @GCSEeeek! Congratulations!

@achangeofnameisasgoodasarest Awesome results! Congratulations!

Dd should be nearly there by now. Doors open at 9.00. I need coffee… and biscuits!

Goingincirclesstill · 21/08/2025 08:53

We're about to leave to go to school...I am feeling very scared as such a mix across mocks etc...DD still doing her hair and avoiding going I suspect! Well done to everyone so far!

SilverSnaffles · 21/08/2025 08:54

@BreakfastClub80 That is absolutely fantastic. Huge congratulations to your dd!

CakeFace1234 · 21/08/2025 08:55

Still waiting here. No news could be good news, or bad news!

TravellingSpoon · 21/08/2025 08:55

YourRubyShaker · 21/08/2025 08:40

Good luck to all our DC’s! I’m extremely emotional, whereas DD is more concerned about her social plans later! 🤦‍♀️🫠🤞

Same here. DD has plans to go to Nandos later as they do a discount for those who have got their results.

RhaenysRocks · 21/08/2025 08:58

lifeturnsonadime · 20/08/2025 11:13

My DD has already had 2 results, Cambridge IGCSE's which come 2 days before the normal ones. Not good news for her a 3 in Biology and a 3 in Business. She does have sen and these where her 'worst' subjects but this means that she needs all of the GCSEs she collects tomorrow to be at least a grade 4 to gain her college place for a level 3 BTEC. So the pressure is well and truly on.

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow.

fingers crossed for her - my son is the same but is happy to do a L2 in his college course. He's summer born so I don't mind if he takes an extra year at college.

Sisublondie · 21/08/2025 05:46

Yay, or, rather, noooooooo!!! It’s not just me up!! I literally just thought SOMEONE may have posted!!.. @frozendaisy… I’m with you on the giving in!, but I’m on 🐩 loving instead 😻..

Am I right that you can’t go in?? ( Ratty’s little bro sounds fun!! I like! 💕).. how come he might not be allowed? Bloody hell, I’ve not even checked DS18 is allowed in. And he went off to bed pissed off last night, as he’s offered to go in, keeping DS relatively calm thus far- externally- , but thought we’d be leaving about 9, but not, 7.40am. It’s his birthday today and that didn’t appeal. But he promised to get up. Arse, I should’ve checked!

How come you think Ratty Jnr not allowed? And. Are you in your bath, yet?! 🤷‍♀️💕

I think it said just students @Sisublondie Ratty perfectly capable of going in solo

Ratty’s little brother (just about to start year 10)’s nickname will misty likely be CockyRevision! Just to give you an idea

Still not left think we will be last at this rate!

Boohoo76 · 21/08/2025 09:02

Feeling happy as DS got 9’s in the two GCSEs he took this year (year 10). He broke his hand during the exam period so was pretty stressful!

icanbewhatiwant · 21/08/2025 09:04

I’m sitting outside school in the car. Been here 10 mins.

GSCECelebrations · 21/08/2025 09:04

Dd is walking to school with a friend and I don’t know if or when she’ll tell me her results. Parents aren’t allowed to go and I was forbidden from waiting nearby to give her a big hug. When she did her MFL two years ago she didn’t tell me her result for hours and I was the last to know which was hurtful. In fact I think I heard off my mum or her sister rather than Dd directly. So I’m feeling emotional today knowing that I likely won’t know anytime soon either.
Congratulations on all the results so far and all the best to those still on tenterhooks!

icanbewhatiwant · 21/08/2025 09:06

There are lots of parents hanging about too. Ds said he couldn’t care less what he gets. But I know he does. He told me off for watching dc’s opening results. on bbc news this morning. He said there are far more important things going on.

Poisoningpigeons · 21/08/2025 09:06

Well done to everyone!

DDs did great (in my view) but they’re being really hard on themselves. DD1 all 8/9, DD2 one 7 but others 8/9. DD2 has been crying for ages Sad despite us trying to reassure her.

SuperTrooper1111 · 21/08/2025 09:07

Sitting outside school in car as DD goes in. Feeling sick to my stomach with nerves now. 🤢

Same. The waiting is awful. Good luck. 🤞

SilverSnaffles · 21/08/2025 09:13

@Poisoningpigeons They have done fantastically well. It’s such a shame that the pressure they get put under these days means they end up feeling bad about excellent grades like that. I hope they can still enjoy today and celebrate their achievements.

lifeturnsonadime · 21/08/2025 09:13

My daughter is still in the shower. Delaying the inevitable.

I feel sick.

Well done to all of those who've already got there results!!!

icanbewhatiwant · 21/08/2025 09:15

I’ve been sitting here almost 20 mins. Others have gone in and come out and left. I did say don’t rush….

Exhaustedonallfronts · 21/08/2025 09:21

Bit of a disappointing morning here. His results are ‘fine’ a mix of 7/6, and he’s got enough for 6th form/A levels… but he’d worked so hard and at home all the practice papers for sciences were solid 9s. Worse I think is he came out of the exams saying they’d gone really well and he thought 9s were on the table. He was so upset but trying to put a brave face on it.

Only seen them on the ap so no idea if any were ‘near misses’.

SilverSnaffles · 21/08/2025 09:23

She did it! 6 in Maths after all summer convincing herself she had failed! Other than that, all 8’s except Drama, which was a 7 and Art, which she knew she was getting a 5 for, as she developed a deep loathing for her coursework and completely switched off in Y11 to focus on her other studies.

Apparently all her friends have got what they needed too, so they’re heading into the village to celebrate.

She has to enrol online by 2.00 pm today, but is still flip-flopping over which subjects she wants to do!

justasoul · 21/08/2025 09:24

DD is disappointed 😞 she dropped a grade from predicted in everything apart from maths, English and physics - they’re absolutely great results still, but I’m gutted that she’s gutted. She didn’t revise enough though, so it might be regret…

Bearlionfalcon · 21/08/2025 09:24

@BreakfastClub80 this is so inspiring as a mum of a younger dyslexic girl already worried about this day! Well done to your DD and enjoy the celebrations

Crazycat53 · 21/08/2025 09:24

We're on the wait to see if ds has got into 6th form. He got 9's in all the subjects he wants to do for A levels but 4's in eng Lang & lit. He needed a 4 & a 5 to get in....
