Dd has just wandered in amd informed me one of her friends has thrown up twice due to nerves.
These poor kids :(
I don't remember feeling anything like that level of pressure

Oh poor kid. I don't remember so much pressure either. I think it's because the previous Govt were so hot on judging schools on exams performance that it inevitably filtered down to the kids.

GroovyChick87 · 21/08/2025 08:00

I've been awake since 3, couldn't sleep and feel on edge. DS seems ok. Good luck to all.

TravellingSpoon · 21/08/2025 08:02

Good luck everyone.

Sisublondie · 21/08/2025 08:05

Cattle are in and waiting for the vet - no obvious lumps so fingers crossed we go clear. Had a herd breakdown in June so this is the first of our 60 day tests on the road back to tb free status 🙏

dd now in the shower so I’m having another coffee to try and pass the time. She was less than impressed being hauled out of bed at 6.15 but has thawed somewhat and is now talking to us at least!

no idea what her results will be - she’s capable of 7s but is ND (undiagnosed as she refused to be assessed but ticks many many boxes). Mocks last year ranged from 4s to 9s so it’s anyone’s guess.

she is still pissed off that she had a migraine during her Macbeth paper as she says English lit is her best subject and she wants to do it for a level. Art she has written off as she got bored of her coursework and absolutely refused to finish it 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Praying for a clear herd.

Your DD sounds very similar to DS. Really felt he had put everything into English lit but will be annoyed if he gets a 3 for art because he “could have done nothing and the outcome would be the same” 😂 I did say he had done next to nothing as it was so he couldn’t complain too much.

BobBobBobbing · 21/08/2025 08:05

Good luck everyone- dd has banned me from school- her brother is taking her in.

2 years ago it was his turn. He got some cracking results but the one we were most proud of was a 5 in English Language and a 3 in Lit. He'd never previously got higher than a 3 in lang and a U in Lit.

Mine's still asleep and I have strict instructions not to wake her until 8.10 at the earliest. She'll be too nervous to eat breakfast so wants to just roll out of bed and go.

I am going to try to get some toast down me or I'll feel even more sick on the drive to school!

Just over an hour to go, gah!

Mine are still asleep too. I think I'll wait till 8.15 to wake them. We can't go before 9am.

Joining the thread! About to head into school with DS1 to get his results. 11 subjects, he felt all went ok, says he isn't bothered. Predicted 5-9s & got that in mocks. Only needs 4x4s to get into college to study football - although I wish he was staying for 6th form & doing IB or A Levels!

He has just demoted me so I'm not allowed to drop him at school, just the high street & he's walking in with a friend instead. Gutted but it's his choice & lots are doing similar.

Grade Boundaries for Edexcel here: Grade Boundaries - June 2025 - GCSE (9-1)

For those who care, 144 needed to pass Foundation tier maths.

Just received an email with grade boundaries.. but doesn't say which exam boards. But means they've been teleased

Dweetfidilove · 21/08/2025 08:13

Good luck to everyone today.
My daughter's just collected hers - disappointed she didn't get a 9 in Maths ad she's doing Further Maths so may have to take extension classes, but otherwise happy 🙏🏾.

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 08:15

Aqa maths F 160 for a 4
188 for a 5

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 08:18

Congrats to your dd @Dweetfidilove

swampwitch0 · 21/08/2025 08:18

If I'm reading them correctly the boundaries seem lower than the last couple of years...?

DataColour · 21/08/2025 08:18

I feel sick with nerves now. I've left DS walking to school so it won't be long here. I offered to go with him and he looked at me like I was mad and DD laughed in my face so that's me banned from school. Luckily I can get away from work if needed for support.
Good luck 🍀 everyone to get through this day.

AutumnOffGrid · 21/08/2025 08:19

Very happy son and proud mum.

Predicted between 6 - 9 across all subjects. At last parents evening a few teachers sat opposite us and told my DS that his grades were ok, but did he want to look back and know he could’ve tried harder and feel disappointed in himself. That kick up the arse changed his attitude and he just received news of 5 GCSE’s at an 8, and the other 5 at a 9.
